An example to consider:
Wrestler needs to be seen by or treated by doc to evaluate a tweak/injury. Wrestler, in reality, will be good to go with a week of light duty in the room and some minor PT. But doc wants a little something from the wrestler and has the power to issue or deny clearance for him to compete in the next event(s), and he makes that known in a subtle-but-clear-as-day way.
Obviously, I have no knowledge of the situation and am not taking a side, but the above is a hypothetical possibility to explain why a mere jacking of the jaw wouldn't always be the obvious answer for a wrestler.
