JoBo outing some pos people today

This is the kind of crap that Jbo does that annoys me. Just focus on the games right now. Enough with the social media distractions.

Not to say that he's not completely right that some of these idiots deserve to be called out.

I just want the story to be about how great the team -- including Bohannon -- is playing. Not about how Bohannon is taking down Internet trolls.
Hayden Fry used to do this crap when the hawks were ranked number 1 in the nation. I don't get it. Enjoy the moment and focus on the game. There will time enough for jawing when the seasons done.

A lot people not liking JBo approach to the NIL stuff last year and the calling out of social media psychos last few years.

You know who I’m guessing loves both? Other players, his peers. Maybe he doesn’t care what middle aged fans who aren’t impacted think? Maybe he cares more about what impacts guys who are or will be NCAA athletes?

This is my takeaway too.

Exactly. This is one of the reasons I’m not a huge fan of his. He’s basically doing the same thing they are doing to him. Gotta be able to get over it and move on. Not everyone is gonna kiss his behind in the real world.
Have never quite understood real world comments. He is living in the real world right now doing real world things and dealing with real world consequences positive or negative

The people sending him those messages are doing that to a real world person and he is real world responding to them by shining light. If posting their exact message on the public bulletin board is a problem for them they probably shouldnt have sent the message. Even if jbo is being petty they still sent it and they can own their own behavior or give it context. Some of those there isn't any context that could explain it. Jbo also seems to have something beyond petty at work here which is representing college athletes. He has been consistent in speaking his truth to power and risked much to do so. I don't see this as any different. Speaking publicly about a problem college athletes face pushing it in a way that draws attention to the problem.

Exactly. Its always got to be about HIM, and now is not the damn time. Be a leader and lead. Take these kids somewhere no one believed they could go. let that be your legacy.....
Bullshit. This isn't just about him. It's about a bigger problem in society today. This board is full of idiots calling for others to off themselves. As recently as the Illinois game Kris was told to eff off and kill himself. And just this past Sunday we learned from Connor that there have been idiots at his little brother's games chanting "Fire Fran". This shit needs to be called out and stopped in the moment. It is no different than calling out any of the other wrongs in the world. There is never a perfect time. The closest we will ever get to that is NOW. By postponing any discussion we are only normalizing shitty behavior. Props to Jordan. He gets this is bigger than him.

As to the 2nd half of your post, I'd love to see a link to any posts where someone thought this team was a B1G title contender. I'd suggest he has already led this team to a place nobody thought they could go.

Not sure I agree with him being cut if that actually happened but damn..
Maybe not cut, just taken off the webpage and put on ice until things pass. Who knows? Kid might be doing a lot of wind sprints for a few weeks.

Much as some of these guys sound like d-bags it wouldn't hurt JBo to keep his mouth shut once in a while either.

Good point could be temporarily. JoBo usually talks direct shit and doesn't send cowardly DMs to people (I would assume) as he'd be outed by now.

We live in the age of social media. I’m not a fan of it, but this is one criticism of JBo I don’t understand. Everything you wrote is spot on.

Good for him calling out people who make threatening messages. If you're stupid enough to use your real name and threaten somebody, you deserve everything you get.

But life is also easier if you don't dive into Twitter comments. Allowing DMs and reading comments is a recipe for unneeded anxiety and the over-generalization of people and/or fanbases IMO. 20% of adults have Twitter. 10% of users make 80% of tweets. I just hope he keeps that in perspective because Twitter isn't real life and if you are judging people/fanbases by Twitter, you're gonna have a pretty warped world view. Unfortunately I can't see anything changing that until your identity is required to use it.

Go Hawks

Yeah the whole laid out thing is illegal and that pos deserves to be in jail and to get sued
Are we talking about the 24 year old that was throwing Ice cubes at a wedding party or the POS that dropped him? Dumb shit happens, if you want to be an idiot, be an idiot, but when it's time to pay the piper Don't sue someone.

But you know, Jordan handles shit face to face.

Guy has alot of growing up to do, his employer isn't going to give a shit about his ability to shoot a basketball.

Well yeah, I would assume not. So what?

People are going to say what they want on a message board.

Theres never an assumption jbo would care.

What about all the public school kids who deal with bullying daily that nobody does anything about?

I feel way worse for them than jbo....

I don't know what happened to the dude, but it's not hard for me to imagine a hypothetical in which Iowa/Jbo fans have come at him every bit as hard as he came at Jbo. (It looks like his Twitter has also been taken down, fwiw.)

Maybe he had it coming.

To be clear, I am in the land of hypotheticals and guesswork at this point, so take this post with a grain of salt. But if my hypothesis has any truth it, one wonders if Bohannon's "outing" of these idiots has helped clean up the Internet cesspool, or if he's only deepened it.

You know what, I guess I should just apologize. Everybody thinks its fine, so I guess its fine. I shouldn't have commented. This board is the only thing I do as far as social media. I don't do twitter, Facebook or any of it, and I think its repugnant, so obviously I shouldn't have an opinion. No doubt I'm crazy for thinking maybe he should be more concerned about the game in a few days, but not my place, so.
As for what people think they might do. First off they weren't a BIG title contender and they didn't win the BIG. They won the tournament. Same thing Alford did twice, and then proceeded to shit down his leg in the NCAA. If you haven't been listening because of the roll Iowa is own there have been MANY talking heads predicting them in the sweet 16 and several as a final 4 team. Again something Iowa hasn't done in a half a century, so maybe there's still something else in front of this team if they want it bad enough.

Yeah and the guy that dropped him gets to pay the piper in a much more serious way doesn't he? He is getting his stupid ass dropped as well just in a way that hurts way more. What a moron that guy is ...is it you? Seems like it might be you

As for Jordan maybe he has some growing up to do but so do you.

His employer LOL. Stop being such a bi**h about hurt feelings. You keep whining about this over and over.

It's funny isn't it? His employer is the basketball team, the University, and himself. He seems to be on good terms with all that despite what this tool thinks.

I’m pretty sure he’s focused on the Tournament. Many players of ALL teams are active on social media, not just Jordan. Whether you like Jordan or not he’s taken a beating by fans including some Iowa fans. These responses to Jordan just like those in the past are an indictment on the haters rather than Jordan.
All the kid has done is score 2k points, set Iowa assist record and BIG10 3’s made but go ahead and hate.

I missed the part where Jordan is reaching out to people telling them “ he’d wish they f**king die.
I guess I missed the part where I said he said that.
he’s basically cocking off because he played well in the tourney and rubbing it in their faces. He’s engaging in the same childish behavior. If it didn’t bother him he would let it go but now he wants to gloat about it. I didn’t see him outing people when he was struggling earlier in the year.

Nobody asked you to feel sorry for Jordan. Also, you can always find someone who may be worse off, does that mean that bad behavior should not be called out? Maybe calling some of these people out with their own messages will help all of us realize that there are consequences to your actions and we should all respect each other more. Posting a message whether with your real name or not does not give you the right to post whatever you want.

This. The "real" world is totally effed up because of social media and the way it has been used to spread lies and allow anonymous attacks on people. When it's this bad, you can't expect everyone to follow normal rules of decorum. There are no longer any rules.
