Joe Parisi Open

These other Hawks are the ones you mentioned. They were supposedly not available for the duals due to injury, yet they are wrestling tournaments.

Do you mean the one guy who didn't wrestle last weekend as you claimed and the other one who's redshirting, as explained in my post and in gable's?

Trying to follow this tourney is difficult. Flo has a live stream but it isn't on FloArena and there is no scoring graphics. The tournament is being run on trackwrestling but without live scoring or upcoming bout lists, just brackets.
So left with scrolling thru streams of 13 mats hoping to recognize someone and if I do then totally be in the dark on match status (score/period/time) as 99% of the time I started watching mid match.
Somebody dropped the ball and I'm guessing its Lindenwood.

*Flo is tweeting what mats some upcoming matches are on but other than that this is frustrating for a wrestling junkie such as myself.

I'm not opposed to the freshman men wrestling other freshmen in early opens. They already get pounded daily by upperclassmen and likely some hawk club guys. After getting beat down for 3 months it makes sense to show them how much progress they've made and then send them back to the wolves on Monday. Notice when Pico started getting man handled by senior level guys his coach made him wrestle junior events again. Same mentality.

Yeah I wish Track had their dashboard up. There's also Tulsa going on and football in an hour. My brain cant handle this all at once.

When you get some tweets or info on who is on what mat....you post it here so the rest of us don't go nuts trying to figure it out....k?

Not gonna waste my day following it. I understand the philosophy of wrestling freshmen in the freshman division if you're Williams Baptist. I strongly disagree with it for a top D1 school with freshmen who are likely to be in the lineup next year--and if so, are expected to place at NCAAs. Kemerer and Holloway will improve faster by wrestling Lavion Mayes and D'Jen Cox than by wrestling third-string guys from Graceland and Grand View. John Smith agrees with me.

Snow got your panties in a wad? I'll trust the coaches on this one...

Kemerer might be on a collision course to meet Eric Barone from Illinois in the finals. People may have not heard of him, but he did beat Larry Early at states last year and finished the season ranked in the top 10. Should be a good test

Not to take anything away from Barone, but I do think Early was injured pretty good all of last year.

I do think a 100% Early is better but Barone is no slouch. He's a stingy wrestler and it will be interesting to see if Kemerer can get to his offense on him

Barone is legit. I think he got a win over Josh Maruca at the Dapper Dan (WPIAL vs IL Allstars). He was very defensive in high school so it will be interesting to see if that continues under Mark Perry or if any of IMar rubbed off on him.
Barone will probably have to get passed Alex Butler (Blaise's brother) before a Kemerer match. Butler is also pretty good.

No big deal because of the competion but that Moody is doing ok. Maybe in 2 years in the room could be that diamond in the rough.

Welp...we are getting in the weeds but last week, Butler barely beat Cole Wysocki at the MSU Open 9-8 while Aaron Meyer just majored him today. I like my Hawk...hehe

Well if nothing else it gives us both a reason to try to watch a quarterfinal match in the Joe Parisi frosh/soph division. Let me know when you find the mat/match.

While scrolling thru the mats after I saw results for 133 pop up, I happened upon Meyer vs Butler as the 3rd period was starting (I know this because the ref pulled out the disc, didn't flip it and offered choice). Not knowing the score I watched Butler choose bottom, get an escape, fire off an attack to score on the edge against pretty good defense, give an escape, fire off multiple leg attacks and then go defensive the last 15 seconds before getting his hand raised.

It's been frustrating. I ditched it for the Va Tech dual meet

Matt Wempen takes out Barone!
The 2-1 score looks like Barone may still be more defense than offense. 2 years ago at the state tournament he had taken 4 of the top 6 finishers in his bracket to UTB during that tourney. Of the 2 other top 6 finishers that he didn't wrestle in UTB that tournament he was one of them and the other he had wrestled to UTB the week before at the sectional tournament. I can only imagine the ulcers he's given anyone that's really pulling for him.

Tell Gunther to shoot more. He's giving me an ulcer
