Joe Parisi Open

Glosser seems to be performing pretty well. Might be a sleeper if he progresses. Losses to Kemmerer but no worse that some proven guys at 149 have.

Turk gets an 11-0 win and Kemdog gets a fall in 1:53.

So when do they wrestle off for the 141 spot? Tell me again SPOONER!

I don't see how this is doing any good for Kemerer. I'd rather see him lose to Mayes and learn to wrestle top tier opponents than pin competition that is on par with what he faced in high school. The dead horse has been beaten but this is boring. It did Clark and Gilman a lot of good when they faced guys like Delgado their redshirt year.

FWIW I think Carton, Ryan and Grothus would have all beat the same opponents that Turk and Kemerer did today. But enough of that, tell Brody he might as well stop his cut and tell Sorensen to start bulking up!

March line up
41 BG
49 BS
57 EC

I'm as excited about Turk and Kemerer as the next guy, but will people please stop acting like it will be anything else.

This. The only caveat is if Brody can't go and Turk shows much better at Midlands than Ryan/Carton.

The guy Turk beat in the finals is no slouch. Cam Kelly was a state champ in ohio last year, and beat SPG's Rocky Jordan in the finals, and i believe 1 or 2 other times in the season. Rocky very well may go on to be a 4x finalist 3x champ in Ohio.

Little doubt it will be Ryan.
No doubt, just messing with you a bit. Too early to pull Turk's RS even if warranted. Carton wrestled 1 match before medically forfeiting ( again, why does he keep wrestling if he's injured; or does he keep getting re-injured? ). Grothus is still descending in weight and needs more mat time after his surgery. So yes, that only leaves Ryan.

Wtf? Are you off your meds?
OK...if AFHawk will admit to messing with you........I will too. :(

I apologize for sucker punching you when you were going around with your Jaw sticking out so far and easy to take a swing at. It was too easy. I'm a bad internet poster......

Going to my corner for a time out. o_O

Won't Kemmerer and Turk get their shot at the Midlands? Maybe this is the plan. [BTW, I get the impression Moody would walk to Evanston for an opportunity to wrestle there.]

He won't be there but he is improving at a nice clip and probably would walk there.

Why do you say this about Moody?

Funny thing...I was looking around for Iowa guys yesterday and finally saw a kid with a huge fro...I had only seen Moody wrestle once this summer but I was like FINALLY, AN IOWA KID!!! Whatever the reasons, yesterday really sucked for this wrestling junkie.

Very inexperienced Moody is yet he had 2 falls and made the finals. Shows how weak the open was . Reason I wish Kem and Turk where in the other division. This is no offense to Moody the kid is learning fast and well it seems.

Wrong Cam Kelly. The CK you're thinking about attends Ohio University, not SIUE.

Turk's opponent Cameron Kelly SIUE info below.
Prep: Massachusetts state champion in 2014 at Franklin High School ... Runner-up at state championships during 2013 season ... Member of the All-Star teams announced by the Boston Herald and the Boston Globe ... Posted career record of 151-23 ... Member of the New England Gold Wrestling Club (2013-14)

Oh well, that tempers it a bit. Didn't know they wrestled in Mass. Thought it was all lacrosse and croquet

The same Cam Kelly wrestled in the open division at the Grand View open and lost to Logan Ryan 10-6. Vince Turk just beat him 11-0

I agree with you Tarp, but it was Turks finals opponent. :p Blaise Butlers little brother Alex, from Mizzou, was Kemerer's finals opponent. Your point stands nonetheless.

In light of this new information will sombody please tell Grothus to resume the cut.

Papa, are you avoiding the thread about your boy? I expected to see a reply from you. In any case, what a cool story! Larry has a lot of fans among Iowa fans! I'm sure you're extremely proud, as you should be.
