Joe T, he gone

Think everyone needs to pump the breaks on JT.

Bohannon and his 30 minutes will be gone and JT and AU will both be in the mix for increasing roles and PT next year. It has to be very tough for Joe to go from starting last year and growing with time on the court. I expect next year he will take a big step forward.

Not my first reaction. You have sat on here and found a way to find every way imaginable to blame Fran, including the asinine remark that Fran isn't to get credit for the development of Garza. At some point, stop and enjoy the fact that we are a top 10 team, with many good young developing players. Fran's development of many of our players has been very very solid.
...I give up with you. Idk if you are thinking of someone else or what but I have said in multiple threads that I like Fran and have been a big fan of his from day 1. Only this season I’ve questioned his rotations. Doesn’t mean I think Fran sucks or that I am not glad he is our coach. Again, you’re either not reading or just not trying to understand because you like to argue, but I never said Fran doesn’t deserve any credit for Garza... I said he was an anomaly and that I didn’t think (in my opinion, which may be different than yours—imagine that!) the coaching staff was 100% the reason for all of Garza’s improvement and that he has worked hard and done a lot with his dad to improve his game. If you actually have a problem with that or are somehow offended by that statement then I’m sorry. Have a good day man. Go Hawks.

He's nails on defense but on offense dribbles the ball at shoulder height and while not necessarily erratic, he doesn't seem to drive with any purpose. He's moving at 30 mph left, right, up, and down and I clench my teeth every time he gets within 10 feet of the hoop because he has no finishing moves. Consider these options:

Pull up jumper
Floater
Runner
Euro step
Harden step back
Fade away
Hook shot
Confident layup

Are any of these things you would bank Joe T on doing if given the ball and he HAS to score, whether the score be 0-0 or 78-79.

I dunno. Maybe it's been so long since he's had a decent chance that I forget what he's really capable of. I think he's a good teammate and talented young man, and maybe Fran is wasting his talents or whatever, but I don't get a sense of "Hell yes, Joe T is in baby!!!!" when he comes in the game.

Joe T was great today and I think he loves being a Hawk ! He will be a big factor the rest of this season and the next two years. Go Hawks !
Not a fan of Joe T as far as his game and impact, but credit where it's due, he was great today.

Then got benched when he was going nuts on both ends. Why Fran? Why?

Oh well. Big W. Astounding really, fOSU has lost 3 in a row? Caught'em at a good time I guess. I'll take it. Great job Hawks, didn't think they had it in them.

You can say whatever you want about liking Fran, but when every single post bashes and shuts down anything he has done, it makes no sense. Keep being you though.

Lol we win a huge game yesterday but you would rather keep up with your weird obsession with me.

You are clearly just like to argue and troll. You make a claim with no evidence and demonstrate no capability to actually read the posts and understand the context so you twist words and just make stuff up to argue, like I “bash Fran” every thread. Wtf? Is this how you talk to people in person as well?

Regardless, it is clear it is best to put you on ignore as you really don’t add anything of value and it is clear you have no intention of trying to have a respectful discussion but would rather just argue and be rude or act tough on a Hawkeye message board or whatever it is you’re trying to do. Please do me a favor and ignore me as well. It will make this board more enjoyable for everyone I’m sure. Keep being you though.

You make a claim with no evidence and demonstrate no capability to actually read the posts and understand the context so you twist words and just make stuff up (like I hate on Fran every thread and think the coaches deserve no credit for Garza. Wtf? Not what I said. I have Garza extra credit he deserves for putting in all that extra work with Frank.) because it is easier and then when I correct you, you just move to something else and make something else up. You lack any ability to have a respectful discussion, which is sad if you’re an adult because you wouldn’t be able to function well talking like this in person. If you’re a kid with too much time on your hands then I get it—you got me good.

Either way it is clear it is best to put you on ignore as you really don’t add anything of value and it is clear you have no intention of trying to have a discussion. Please do me a favor and ignore me as well. Keep being you though.

Here is what you said Fran Fan.

"It would be if your boss didn’t train you on how to do your job or give you the tools necessary to do your job well.

Or if your boss told fired you every time you make a mistake, that wouldn’t be a good boss.

I think that’s the point he is making. Yes it is on JoeT to put in the effort and have a good attitude—which by all accounts he does—so what has the coaching staff done to develop him?

I’d actually say this opens up an interesting discussion on player development under this coaching staff. I’ve felt like we have had players as underclassmen perform well and garner high expectations for the following season and then seem to regress. Garza is an anomaly and I think his development couldn’t be credited completely to the coaching staff. "
Here is my claim with evidence. You've gone from Joe T playing time, to now doubting complete player development under Fran. Let's not mistake me not having a respectful discussion with you, which I did several times, with me finally realizing that no matter what happens, this super Fran fan is going to blame him for everything under the sun. It's annoying to deal with guys who bitch about everything anonymously.

Already have put that guy on ignore as he is a detriment to any conversation (also about 10 other disrespectful folks).

I’m not sure what you guys are talking about because I ignored this guy about a week ago myself. I would highly recommend you do the same. Couldn’t reason with the guy at all.

While you can't hear me, you called Jbo, Lil Lick, and said he was playing 36 MPG. When presented with stats/facts to clearly point out how wrong you were, you called people names, and were labeled a "jerk" by many within a thread.

Yep. I agree. This board is great with tons of hawk fans that love discussion and are okay with a difference of opinion and most people seem surprisingly respectful for a message board, but the ignore feature is awesome for those that aren’t.

LOL, difference of opinion and pointing out facts are completely different. When you hide behind a screen name and call out a coaching staff with wrong info you should be called out for it.

It's quite bizarre. I fill most of my posts with some sort of stat/fact to back up what I'm implying. I have great patience in most. However, when you see the same posters going to every thread to bash Fran and our players, you start to recognize and react differently. They were both Troll's after every loss, and even wins.

With all due respect, which is hardly any, you were a gigantic douche about JBo and Fran on this board. I can’t believe you pretend you did the right thing by ignoring anyone. I don’t ignore anyone, and you made me seriously think about it.

You struggle to read as well I clarified for you what I said multiple times but you say the same things.

I explained a point another poster was making and then asked how our coaching staff develops talent. Admitting bad examples I brought up but also wondering how much Joe T has progressed since arriving. You don’t agree—I’m guessing because you don’t like JoeT as a player, which is your opinion.

I also said Garza was an anomaly becauseI don’t think many players have made such huge leaps in such a short time period. I THINK (please take note that this is my opinion since you struggle with that concept) that a lot of his improvement can be credited to his work with Frank in the offseason.

Note: this does not mean the coaching staff had no impact on his development and if you read the posts above would know I have said they did and never said at any point that they don’t deserve any credit for anything.

You conveniently ignored my response to you earlier on that.

Do you think Garza and Frank doesn’t deserve credit for the work he put in to improve his game?

If you think they do, then you shouldn’t have any issue with what I said about it.
Also, hiding behind a screen name? Is that not what everyone on a message board is doing? I doubt your name given at birth is CalmHawk. That is certainly a new take.

well I pointed out some facts and when I did he didn’t bother to pay any attention to the facts that I pointed out. Jbo is a fine player but he’s also playing in a system and with Garza, which have inflated some of his numbers. Me personally, I would rather see joe t get some more of his minutes for a lot of the reasons that we saw yesterday. The guy I ignored would rather come at me aggressively and say he’s the assists leader and 3 point leader so I chose to ignore him.
Also, I have never said anything about Fran. But I’ll personally say I like Fran. He sticks up for his players and has brought the program back to being relevant. I do think he’s a bit stubborn and childish at times but I like him as our coach and wouldn’t want him fired.

I can help you out. If you say, I was wrong, my bad..... Instead you say things like well I was wrong about that but what about this or that.... Come on man. Admitting you are wrong about something is ok.

Toussaint is a player that I said needs to let the game come to him and slow down more and quit forcing things. He FINALLY did that this past Sunday and look what happened. It made the team better. He is totally capable of playing well, he just had not been at that level yet. Does Fran get credit for that development? That he has improved?

I did admit I was wrong about my examples. I did so multiple times admitting I was wrong earlier in the thread. I’m open to my mind being changed on any topic and realize I know less than others on this board, which is why I like this board, but what he “called out” about my comment on Garza is taken way out of context.

I never said Fran and staff didn’t deserve any credit for Garza. I simply stated he was an anomaly because of his much talked about workouts with Frank in the off-season. Everyone talks about him out working everyone and he deserves recognition for that.

I completely agree about Joe showing that he could slow it down and play within the flow of the game Sunday while also bringing the same intensity we all like about him. It was nice to see. There isn’t a hawk player I don’t like on this team. In other threads I’ve questioned Fran’s rotations and if the short leash was good for Joe’s improvement (as gave many). I would be elated if it all works out and Joe can play his game while also cutting out the turnovers. If that happens you are 100% right that Fran and co. deserve a ton of credit for that and I’d gladly be wrong for questioning the short leash.
