Jordan Bohannon

Pretty sure he's a good shooter. Can he play PG in B1G as a frosh? That's the question

I say no to being a good big ten point guard. Not close to athletic enough.

Mike Gesell is 3/22 in his last three B10 tournament games, there's people on this board who could do better.

He's a better shooter but not even close to being as athletic or as good of a PG (and yes I've seen him play)

We better hope for CW steps up big time, Moss can give effective spot minutes as some rumors suggest, or a scholly opens up and a stud JUCO or capable 5th year transfer materializes or it's going to be a very, very long year.

Clueless much?

Jordan will mostly be a better overall shooter than either Gesell and Clemmons but not a future all B1G guard. Iowa may do decently with Williams at the point next year. As much as I'd like to see Baer get a scholarship in the event that Iowa has a transfer, Iowa needs a rugged PG who can lead this club to the next level and Bohannon is not it, IMO.

Look at the type of PG that annual top 20 college MBB program have on their rosters. 6'3" 190# PG who can score as well as make assists and play tough defense. Iowa needs offer a PG if a transfer occurs.

I like the kids shooting touch, now will he get the open looks he was getting this year. Fran's good teams rely on "quick, good PGs". Cartwrtight was the last good PG for Fran. The kid was quick and able to penetrate into the lane. His shooting was not that great, but he could handle the ball and attack. He also was a horrible defender, but hell compared to what we have now, I would rather have a guy who can get the offense going.

I've only seen him a couple times so take my comments for what they are worth. I see a lot of players in an annual basis though from officiating.

Pure shot. Not the most flawless stroke but a quick release meaning he doesn't need much room. Will fire from anywhere and at any time.

I think he'll be more of the spot up three shooter at the next level. It will take a drive and kick to him for consistent looks. I don't see him being athletic enough to create his own shot off the dribble and he doesn't have the height to shoot over any big ten shooting guard.

The real unknown in my book is how well he moves without the ball. Can he use screens to create his shot? I don't see him as a pure pg at the big ten level. Certainly can fill an important role for us going forward though depending upon the few things I mentioned.

I think this is going to be pretty spot on. I would wonder out loud how much of a "pure" PG we'll be needing (yes, I get that we need a PG, please follow me). It seems to me that we're building a more "athletic/running" team with what we are bringing in. I don't see us being the bring it across the line and set up an offense--again, I get that every team has to be able to do that. Look at what we have and are getting; a bundle of kids that are in the 6-6 to 6-9 range who can get up and down the floor. It seems to me we need a kid that can push the ball and distribute. Jordan--IMO--is a far better shooter than what we have now. Do I think we're getting Yogi Ferrell-like speed? No. I do think we're getting an athletic kid who can push and pass. When needed he'll be able to spot up. Now I don't think he'll be able to step in on day 1 and handle the rigors of B1G ball, but he's a smart player and I think he'll do just fine and be a solid Hawkeye.

Jordan Bohannon will go down in Iowa history as another great Hawk that has weaknesses but doesn't shy away from the big moments. And most of the time, he makes the opponent pay.

Iowa should retire his jersey!
