Jordan Goodwin video

Saw former Iowa target Nick Rakocevic in that vid. Apparently he still hasn't picked a school? That's really surprising considering all the attention he was receiving prior to last summer.

That attention dried up faster than the California Central Valley.

Very impressive video, although I don't remember seeing his outside shot. Tough, good court awareness, pretty good handles, uses his off hand well. Do we have a scholly?

Finally, you guys are seeing what I have been witnessing and tell my fellow Hawkeye fans all about. Jordan Goodwin is the best junior BB player in IL and should have been Mr. Basketball in Illinois this year. He is an improving 3 point shooter and hit 2 in the above video (Ballislife.com) at the 24 sec and 1:17 marks. In the 2016 state semifinals against Nick "The Stick" Rakocevic, Jordan scored 25 points , 10-15 shots, 2 of 5 3 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Free throws need work 3 of 8 tosses. Unselfish player. 6'3"/6'4" . Can drive to the basket from either side and finish with either hand. Scholarship? Give him Connor's and pay Connor's way or tell Ellingson to find another school. Jordan was at #87 while Connor was #90 a month ago on Rivals 150. Jordan has risen to # 65 while Connor remains at #90 in recent Rivals 50 placings and Jordan will just keep getting better.

If Iowa is to ever improve, it must start getting higher rated athletic players who can really compete and get after it. Jordan would been any of the recruits Iowa lands this year and would challenge Williams and Moss outright. Jordan would make a better PG than Frank Williams' son Da'Monte. ILL-annoy has too many guards on its roster and Goodwin would eat Jordan Bohannon for lunch, anytime and anyday. Jordan Bohannon could not start on Goodwin's Belleville Althoff HS team (Ranked #20 in finals HS national rankings). If Iowa does not go after this kid hard with his connection to Tyler Cook (Played together on 17U St. Louis Eagles team with Dukie Jayson Tatum), Iowa is not serious about playing towards a conference championship or a Final Four appearance.

Another thing, Jordan and Tyler success at Iowa means St.Louis region opportunity with Top 75 sophomore (2018) recruits 6'8" PF Carte'Are Gordon and 6'3" PG Courtney Ramey, both of Webster Groves, MO (west St. Louis). Belliville West has an excellent freshmen 6'6" E. J. Liddell who is just starting to show up in the sports news.

Yeah you don't have to sell us, its fran and company you have to sell this to.

Sounds like KF has a scholly for Goodwin already and it said that he was offered for both Football and basketball? How is that possible? if he wants to come to Iowa, I am sure Fran will find a scholly for him. He has to.

You have to expect that Iowa will lose at least 1-2 players this year and next.

Im hoping Fran hops on the STL bandwagon and starts pulling in STL kids because both Illinois, Mizzou are struggling. STL has some great basketball players coming up.

DavenportHawk8, you have been very supportive. Thanks. I'm guessing you have also watch a bit of IL HS basketball in your time as well. Ever see Rock Island when Duncan Reid coached there?

The wife is from Illinois so we always watch the state finals. I did not see Duncan Reid coach there, but I have watched the past 10 years and they have produced some good ball players.

You do not have to convince me at all. I know Illinois ball is a lot better than the state of Iowa and I realize the STL area is a hotbed for recruiting. Now I am praying that Fran will get down there more. He got Cook which was a HUGE get for our program. I am hoping both Epenesa and cook can bring in some more talent for both football & basketball.

Please keep the updates coming!

So we play Goodwin until the last 4 minutes, then bring in Bohannon to shoot and make free throws. Works for me.

No Bohannon BB player mattered significantly to their program until their junior year. Goodwin can become a better free throw shooter by taking less movements out of his mechanics. He is well muscled enough to shoot without bending the knees. Bohannon is a fallback recruit that a better Iowa team should have passed on, IMHO. Bohannon is talented but also has average foot speed and not very physical and he will get exploited in the B1G.

I'm pretty sure he already has a basketball offer as well. According to an article on another site (free information, but not sure if it's okay to link here), he visited with McCaffery on the football junior day weekend.
