Josh Dix

Nope, not around here
Woe......what?

I like. The ballhandling skills look nice. Really smooth with both hands. Good looking shot. Seems to be able to penetrate... I thought he was 6'3" at best. But decent hops. Josh can get up... He will be a solid addition to the roster when he is healed and back closer to 100%. Hope he is healing well & quickly.

I would wager a lot of money Josh is not shorter than 6'3"

You may be right, but his Rival bio says 6'5".

The tapes of Dix remind me of Bobby Hansen, which is a pretty big compliment. He is definitely taller than 6-3, but probably 1-2" shorter than Hansen. I hope he brings the same attitude Hansen had when he played, because the offensive game is probably pretty comparable.

One thing I remember about Bobby, besides his scoring is he was really tough. He did not back down from physical contact. He didn’t look to dish it out like a Brad Davison but he didn’t allow himself to get pushed around.

my biggest concern is that he recovers fully (both physically and mentally) from the broken leg
This is the biggest concern, his injury was very bad. Just that type of injury can damage so many muscles and nerves around the site of the injury. Everyone is pulling for this kid but one of the great lines from Angels and Demons certainly applies. The old wise cardinal to the young uppity priest: God does answer all prayers, sometimes the answer is no.

If Dix can get back for a full season, I'd love for him to have an impact like Sandfort.
Did you see Kris play much during his 1st year at Iowa, and he hadn't suffered a serious injury before coming to Iowa? I still think he will be redshirted or play very little as Kris, Ahron, Tony, and Riley did their first years. Fran loves him some veterans and he has veterans at every position, plus he has Carter and Luc that has been in the system for a year and just because they are preferred walk ons, can play meaningful minutes if needed. Fran didn't redshirt Carter for the he!! of it.

I'm shocked that you care that much about spelling errors on a sports message board.
You're right, I should assume most sports fans can't spell at a fifth grade level.

I'm just looking out for them so they don't make a fool of themselves somewhere that matters, like a job application. I'm doing the Lord's work.

I don't believe Kris was hurt when he came in. Iowa had Garza, Nunge, Keegan Murray, Connor McC all at the 4-5 spots.

As to Dix's injury, the best route for fans is to have zero expectations for him in 2022-23 other than him getting healthy and acclimated. I am sure he will be medically cleared, or at least I hope so. There is a difference between medical clearance and back to what you were before injury. He has an interesting game, and has a chance to be good at Iowa. It just may take a bit.

Brunner was 6-4.75. Heard it out of his own mouth
In bare feet.

These arguments get old. It really doesn't matter how tall a player is if they can get rebounds or have a higher release point. Brunner got position and out-jumped opponents to get rebounds.

Josh has a high release on his jump shot. Pre-injury he could really jump. He's young, he'll recover. He'll do fine!

Bru said it on his own. He was answering some guy that asked him why he wasn't in the league. His full response was, "Well when you're 6-4.75, white, and bald......" Lol, Bru definitely seemed like a funny guy.

Appreciate your concern though
Do you think he might have been poking fun at those of you who always question his height, especially since he was measured 2" taller than that at the NBA Draft camp?

I know someone that played against Brunner that is a legit 6'4". He said Brunner had a good 2 inches on him.
