Max Lyon (Iowa Red) over Jelani Embree (Michigan Blue) Dec 8-6
That's that signature win he needed. That's big time and might have saved the dual. Go Max!
Happel lost a tough one but that's a match he can definitely win. He was in on him repeatedly. Freeman is a stud in his own right.
Agree - big win for Max - Embree was #( 170.. but #3 JR, so he's a top 3-5 kid next year rankings
Happel took a lot of shots. Good defense by Freeman buts that all he did the whole match.
Happen=overrated. Guy that beat him (Freeman) was ranked 14th last year at 132 and is a year younger than Carter. Oh and Freeman just got stuck in the first period by some kid from Minnesota. Happen is going to struggle mightily in D1. Bring on the denial.

Everybody is good at this level. With Happels recent results against solid (not elite) guys being what they are it doesn't appear that he's ever going to be an elite D1 guy. He appears to have potential similar to a Logan Ryan. Not that they're terrible, obviously talented wrestlers. I just don't see the offensive output needed to compete at the highest level. Happel was touted as the "big gun" on Iowa's dual team. Underwhelming. Not looking like he could be a D1 AA in a couple years. Would love to be wrong.
Side note. I watched two California duals with no Mejia. Did I miss something?
