I don't mind him.Not a caption but I wonder if that douchebag will ever get over it/himself. He actually could be a good likable coach.
Agree. He seems like an okay dude and has worked magic at a crappy football school ...I don't mind him.

Ha .. Well said! And true! He's annoying but a good coach. His personality (the constant clapping and coachy-coach stuff on the sidelines) is such that you like him if he's your coach but annoyed if the opponent. He handled the tough situation taking over when Randy Walker died very well, especially for someone his age at the time (he was only 31 then).
In public he's rather complimentary toward Iowa and Ferentz. Who cares if he makes the game a huge point of emphasis for his team? Coaches can determine who they choose to make high priority.
Fitz is a good coach, and a great fit for his alma mater, but I don't agree with the magic part. He's had some success but been pretty up and down. He also has failed to bring the Cats a BIG title, something both his predessesors did. His mentor Gary Barnett to Nwestern to back-back BIG titles and a Rose Bowl, in 95 and 96. Gary Walker led Nwestern to another title in 2000. Walkers untimely death in 2006 from a heart attack at age 52 opened the door for LB coach Fitz to take the reins. If there was a magic man at Nwestern it was Barnett, who took over a morbid football program, worse then what Fry inherited at Iowa.Agree. Because they actually beat Iowa as a result of their try-hardiness at Fitz's wanting to beat Iowa. And I take offense to that. He's annoying but a good coach.
