What make Iowa a 4 seed in the big ten tourney. All I want to see is Iowa in the top 4 to get a double bye, but why is whisky a 3 seed. They showed it that way on the latest big ten show. Just curious if there is any method or they just throw teams where ever they feel.

We are tied with 4 other teams at 10-6. We are 1-1 against those teams, Wisky is 2-2. So next Tie-breaker is how we did against Maryland, in which they are 1-0 and we are 1-1.

I get it, not even sure overall record matters when it comes to tourney seed.

It might be included in the tiebreaking criteria, but if so it's way down the list as it should be. As others have said, with the current 4-team tiebreak the first one is the record against each other. Wisconsin's 1-0 mark against Maryland breaks the deadlock. What Iowa needs to get into is a tie for either the 2, 3 or 4 seed with Wisconsin (1-0 against the Badgers). Obviously any wins over PSU, MSU or Illinois down the stretch would help a lot.

Iowa is most likely going to have to finish 3-1 or better to get a top 4 seed.

If the rest of the Big Ten season goes "chalk," MD would be the #1 at 16-4, IL #2 at 13-7 and PSU #3 at 13-7. WI, MSU and IA would finish tied at 12-6, with all 3 teams .500 vs. the other 2, making WI #4 based on 1-0 record vs. MD. I believe IA would be the #5 and MSU #6, based on IA's 1-0 record vs. MD, with MSU 0-2. But, of course, we'd still have a Thur game.
