Just downed a 10 ounce bottle of magnesium citrate

It has always been 50 but I hear 45 now if family history of polyps. I'm not a doctor.
I think 45 is the new rec based on the colon cancer rates. I could be wrong.

As for OP, Mag Cit is the easy part of the process, just a pre-cleansing cleanser. Wait until you get into the gallon jug, that's when the real fun begins.

CSB- I had my colonoscopy at 53. Doc gave me the cocktail of drugs prior to the procedure. They got me in position, inserted the scope and I let out an audible "OOOF!". Doc said give him more and that's the last thing I remember until I came out of the stupor. He gave me the 10-year pass. We'll see what happens in a couple of years.

Mrs a was a nurse who worked at an endo center recovery room near dc. Every so often they would get some lunatic woman in who would want to do a “natural” procedure. Which is to say without anesthesia. That usually lasted about 35 seconds

Is this the 50 and over men's support group I've been looking for my whole life?

I'm 45 and have had 4 of them. Each time they had me take the pills. Never had to drink the drink.

The rest of the prep begins soon. Pray for my septic system. Not going to be a fun night.
Had my first one recently and my wife (no pic) got the results before I did, which is rare for her to get the mail before I do. I had bitched and whined about the procedure the whole time; much to her frustration I'm sure. She opened the results and said; 'you are due back in 6 months.' I instantly thought the worst and before I could grab it she informed me I was good for 10 years. I was not real happy and she said 'the king of joking around couldn't take a joke for 30 seconds'. In fact I got a little pissy. I told her me dropping dead from a heart attack thinking I might have colon cancer is not really a great joke. For me, not eating all night was the hard part. I typically am by instinct and schedule; an Intermittent faster. I mainly hated not eating after 5pm or whatever the time was. The procedure is a piece of cake! I know; CSB.

I work in healthcare.
Compliance officer comes to inspect our area. Sees Mag Citrate bottle in med fridge and declares "you can't store your pop in a med fridge". We reply "you caught us, please take it for yourself as a peace offering." Compliance office becomes wary and backs down. Darn it.

“They give you this stuff called Go Lightly. Boy is that mis-named. It should be called ‘Cramp and shit like a motherfvcker’. I sneezed and I shit in my socks.”

Got my first one tomorrow. Just drank my first 8 oz. I was expecting the taste to be worse. Pooping has not commenced yet but I can feel a storm brewing

I just don't get the people who choose to drink over the pill option.
Colonoscopy is better. Pill is better than nothing but not as good. Also if they find something during colonoscopy, they can remove polyps. If the pill finds something....guess what? You're getting a colonoscopy.

No I’m talking about taking the pill instead of the drink for the prep.
