Wow. This country is no where near full employment. What this country is doing is churning out worthless degrees from colleges of people who become under- employed because they do not want to work in sectors that have high demand.
My house on Sanibel Island was destroyed by hurricane Ian and subsequently myself and other property owners sold to a developer out of Atlanta who is now developing those properties into one association that we have a stake in. Problem is there are no where near the construction workers around the U.S. to make this a normal process.
In North and South Dakota there are jobs galore in a lot of sectors with construction in that area needing labor to keep up with the supply of housing needed to house the workers they need. The energy sector is booming.
Migrant need is only for temporary seasonal help. Look at actual statistics of the countless college educations that are basically worthless. High schools in the U.S. love the kids who will go to college, but forget the ones who don't that we really need. Think we have a nursing shortage? The migrants being let in are not becoming nurses.
Lets look at the nursing field. If we vetted legal immigrants and brought them to the U.S. to be trained in the nursing field it would be legal immigration and help to solve an area of need for this country. This is not what is happening.

Its an economic term when you no longer have seasonal unemployment and have used most of your available resources (labor) that is in the workforce.
The term has been used by politicians and lemmings to explain away immigration, the need for unions, and has largely ignored white collar labor for decades.
So you fail to answer nursing shortages, doctor shortages in rural areas, construction labor shortages, shortages in manufacturing labor especially welders and skilled labor. I could go on.
If you continue the term full employment it does not cover those that are under-employed that I explained to you to start with. Deflection to say I don't understand something that is a political phrase that is totally used for political motives to make economics, job reports, and inflation align with a false narrative is fully understood by myself.

Here's what's holding Merica back from even greater economic boom...Businesses, large and small, can't expand because there's a labor shortage...courtesy of an immigration program that is limiting entry level workers.

Own a business or seven and get back to me. Illegal immigration does not fix any type of labor shortage.
That was a hard period. Illegal immigrants dont have enough education, are rarely english speaking, and have no support system.
I have had zero problem expanding any businesses I own including two in the town you live in with a starting wage of $22.00. I just bought an ice cream shop up here in the Land-O-Lakes the people sold because they couldn't get help. Fully staffed 5 months in and changed the business and employment culture to make young people want to work. Own a laundry business in Bemidji staffed by college kids that had problems with a labor shortage when I bought it. Haven't had an issue and have a buyer who wants to buy and keep the business model.
