The contrast is pretty interesting. Kamala’s ads are mostly positive about building the middle class and tax relief for working people. Trump is running attack ads about Kamala using tax money for prisoner sex changes, criminals she has pardoned who later murdered, and of course illegal immigrants.

So, positivity vs. fear porn. Which one do you think is more effective? Frankly, I think Democrats are making a mistake not running fear porn about Trump. With that said, she is really pounding economic insecurity and trying to make the case she is for working people and Trump is for rich people.

Anyway, which strategy is going to be more effective? I’m not asking your opinion of either candidate or the veracity of any of their claims. Which strategy is going to one) sway undecideds and two) help boost voter turnout for his or her side?

I don’t know cuz when ANY political ad comes on, I either turn the channel or “tune out”. 😉

yeah ive been subjected to the ads from both sides. just strategy wise attacking the opponent might be the better option unless the positive messaging rings true. in short i agree with you.

Harris is running some fear porn ads of her own in regards to abortion and women's reproductive rights.

But Trump's ad about prisoner sex changes that ends she's for they/them, I'm for you hits home. I like the part where they say if this sounds insane its because it is.

I agree.

Those attack ads are very effective because, as you highlighted from the ad, it is insane.

This election is absolutely terrible.

So you’re in favor of what she is doing? Lying.

From my understanding from listening to dem insiders, there will be a lot more negative Trump ads in the next 30 days. They have proven to be the most effective for the small amount of undecided voters. They didn't run as many to this point because they had to introduce Harris to the people first.

Okay, that makes sense.

I hate to say it, but Americans are more attracted to fear porn. It’s pretty much the only way to get elected these days.

Yep I read this the other day. The article I read said the Dem strategy was to run the positive stuff first and introduce Harris to people and then run the negative stuff (of which there is obviously plenty of material) late in the game. I also think I read somewhere that they have been holding back a good chunk of their money to really blitz in the last month so I'm guessing you'll be seeing a lot more Harris ads here soon.

The American people are really tired of his same old tactics. He has his sick cult, but I doubt he's winning anyone over.

Kamala does decency and facts, and trump lies and fear mongers, quite a contrast.

I just saw that one too.

I understand going after Kamala for prisoner sex changes, but piling on trans people with a “they/them” pot shot is tacky and irresponsible.
What would you honestly expect from Trump/his campaign? He thrives on mocking others and making fun of the handicapped….and his “rally audiences” love his humor.

I use multiview on YTTV, so I can normally skip the ads.

I asked last weekend in a random thread- a question about Kamala’s ad:

(Paraphrasing) how does taxing the rich directly lowers costs for the middle class?

I agree Trump is a despicable human being. Not even debatable. Trans people deal with enough shit. They don’t need a political leader adding to the public ridicule.

Whether it’s Haitians or LGBTQ, cowards like Trump always attack the most vulnerable in society then cry about being a victim of irresponsible rhetoric when an ear gets severely wounded.

Trump and his band of illiterate neanderthals are pure trash. Thankfully history will not be kind.

Which doesn’t exactly exist in the sphere of undecideds as it relates to this election. You can’t waffle and eventually decide on voting for Trump if you have any capacity whatsoever for intelligent thought.

It’s just not possible.
Here's my undecided...put on pants to go vote for Harris or just stay home. There's isn't a force on planet earth that would get me to cast a vote for Donald Trump. I'm in Texas, so would it even matter?

EDIT: I do have to put on pants to vote Cruz out, so maybe I'll multi-task.

They say Texas is at risk of turning purple. Lol.

Anyway, you gotta follow your conscience. My vote likely won’t matter either but at least I can tell younger generations I did my part in rejecting ugliness, fear, and hatred.

As I said before, history will not be kind.

Being in a purple area in WI, the ads are absolutely nonstop during games. I'm even well versed in a house race that isn't my district lol.
I also get anywhere from 2-6 political flyers in the mail daily. One thing I find interesting- my state rep is 100% MAGA. With the WI map now somewhat un-gerrymandered, he must have a competitive race because his flyers now proclaim that he's bi-partisan & works across the aisle. Amazing what happens to political positions when the job actually is endangered.

Agree that there isn't a significant number of "undecideds".

Dems have excelled at promoting early/absentee.

With the fundraising heavily in favor of Harris, I expect a 30 day blitz.
