He was a big deal for a period of time back in the day. He used to battle the Von Erichs, so I got to watch him a lot.

Life didn't end up great for him: he had both legs amputated because of diabetes, which eventually got him (with an assist from covid) in 2020.

Oh no - definitely something that was okay back in the 80s and 90s, but way too problematic now.

It seems like most all the good schticks had to do with negative stereotypes of people from other countries (Kamala, the Iron Sheik, the Great Kabuki), while reinforcing positive stereotypes from "western" countries (Sgt Slaughter, Gentleman Chris Adams, etc).
