Kathy Griffin....Is This What The Left Has Become?

Is this what the right has become?

obama-witchdoctor-muck.jpg
Which paid CNN employee made that?

Then do you know what the left should do? Try to have a real conversation about these things. Stop with the over-the-top "lecturing" and cartoonish behavior that turns everybody else off. If you really think there are adult issues to discuss, then prove that you're an adult and discuss, debate, acknowledge areas where your argument may not be as strong, and then hammer home the points you can win on.

I know, I know, you're going to make this about the election and how we had adult choices. Right...

If you feel lectured than you have extreme selective memory- and who is bringing up the election?

Trump is a moron and is being treated, in general, exactly how a lying, unintelligent, narcissistic, elitist would always be treated. Even his Sec of State, who ran Exxon is in favor of the climate accord. However, it seems that Trump fans will accept every idiotic thing he does. He is going out of his way to antagonize and push away America's strongest allies and for what? Because he promised coal miners and frackers and the rest of his base..

You are actually making Pepper's point here. Can you discuss the issues without calling your opposition "moron, unintelligent, narcissistic, and elitist,?" None of those words mean "wrong." If you want to have that adult conversation on issues, lay off the insults and stick to the issues. If you are right, the insults will write themselves. When you start with the insults, your opinion is immediately pigeonholed as partisan and not taken seriously.
I know this is the internet and name calling and outrageous posts are what get liked and replied to. No issue is as black and white as can be fully fleshed out in a message board post, let alone a tweet. In the age of the 15 second attention span and "TL;DR," in-depth discussion is all but gone. Like it or not, this country electing Donald Trump is a symptom of that.

If you are referring to my calling another poster those names than you are off base. The insults are and have been writing themselves. this thread was started about Kathy Griffin who is the definition of irrelevant.
What is relevant are the real life decisions and actions that the president Is making. He is working hard to alienate the strongest US allies while continually sidling up to and sympathizing with dictators. I am against the US pulling out of the Paris accord. Hopefully Trump will do something thoughtful and keep the US involved.

Well, I was referring to using those insults in general, and since you wrote them, they didn't have a chance to write themselves.
And you are right when you say what matters is the real life decisions and actions the president is making. What doesn't matter, and what is not helpful to the discussion is calling him a moron, or a nazi, or a misogynist, or a racist, or homophobic, or islamophibic, or any of the other things that muddy the waters of rational discourse.
If you notice, nowhere in my post did I say I disagreed with you. Nowhere in my post did I defend President Trump. I didn't deny he was any of the things you said he was. Is he siding up with dictators? Yep, but so did every President we've ever had, including the last one. Politics makes strange bedfellows. What I care about is the wellbeing of the people of this country. Our president's job is to do what is best for us. That's what he is hired to do.
We can have a discussion on the merits of the Paris Accord in another thread, but not now as I have to get some work done.

McLovin, President Trump thanks you for your support. ;-P

(Btw, DrVenkman, you may want to brush up on the whole then/than thing)

ok thanks for not lecturing..

I do question what kind of reaction these types of people would have and the potential repercussions of their actions if the POTUS were to ever be assassinated. When people are acting like savages as if they are assassinating the POTUS (Snoop) or are beheading him (Griffin), which is an act regularly acted upon by ISIS and is looked upon as incredibly heinous, you have to question the sanity and common sense.

I can't say that I agree with what she did, but you have to give her some credit for gaining some publicity. I honestly did not know who she was until now, and given the *hitstorm she has created, it appears that now more people will know. Kind of like a lot of shock jock personalities that we have seen grow in the last 30-40 years for doing or saying something as equally stupid.

So, just to recap, a shock comedienne did something outlandish. She went to far and was called on it. She apologized and has lost a gig on CNN.
Who has Trump ever personally apologized to? If he'd have joked about shooting her at a rally his supporters would cheer and we all know he would not have sincerely apologized.

No reason for everyone to get excited.... it's not a Trump mask...... but it is sickening that the skank decided to pull her plug out and show everybody.

A disgusting act by a disgusting human. I'm glad she was fired.

I'm sure you feel the same about Ted Nugent when he said he wanted to put a gun up Hillary's vagina and pull the trigger or have Obama suck on his machine gun. Of course, he got an invite to the oval office and a larger audience.

I think the big difference here is you don't find any leaders in the Democratic Party defending her on this and you will be hard pressed to find any progressive media people of note supporting her either.
