It was a great night for Biden. He held it together for longer than he has in a long time and sounded coherent, which really is the biggest concern about him if you also agree with his policy positions. To top it off, the RS put on a disaster of a rebuttal performance. Pathetic response by them, and terrible decision to expect being a young smoke show to be enough to carry the night. She made otherwise decent points sound like bullshit.
All that said, the tweet is a great example of a downfall of our current political situation. It's easy to say your going to end cancer, raise teacher pay, access to IVF, etc. which all sound great... But once Congress takes the headline and packs all kinds of crap into the bill, it becomes a whole lot of other things that are undesirable and barely touched the real issue, and that's why it fails, but it gets the party who created the bill a talking point...and that's the game!
Example? See the "border security" bill which Biden harped on...which would do absolutely nothing to secure the border. It was all about bringing more people into the country faster. It was a border security bill without any border security. It "forgot" to include the other half of what was needed. OR was it simply a ploy to give a talking point on the border to counter the reality...that Biden caused the bulk of the problem to begin with and could single handedly get it under control (and if he did his bill would pass BTW).
Silly. Term limits would go a long way toward changing this game within about 10 years.
