I thought he gave up on a few drives and kicked it back out too soon. I'd rather see him take his time down there...and spin back to the middle for a baby hook when the baseline is cut-off. He's got to be patient and back a guy further down...as he's got the spin, elevation and one handed push shot...he could have gotten that several times last night, but he looked to move the ball.

We need him to develop that mentality and realize, most of the time, he's able to get the best shot in a possession...sometimes on his own. It will certainly pay dividends down the road in the B10.

I think he’s really stepped up and been much for assertive this year. I few times I’ve thought he was actually forcing it too much. Last night for example he hit a three as part of good ball movement and then the next time down to fires a three seconds into the play clock. You can tell he’s getting more used to be “the man” to go to.

Iowa is currently 4th in adjusted offensive efficiency in the entire country. They got there by sharing the ball and not having guys force shots that are not high percentage. As is, Murray got off 17 shots last night, plenty high volume. I didn't like the 3-pointers he took while closely guarded and early in the shot clock. He can literally get those any time he wants. But that is nitpicking. Iowa should keep doing what it's doing on offense, sharing the ball and having the open guy shoot it.

Did you like the forced shots both Bohannon and Toussant had when they tried pull up mid range jumpers with guys all over them? Bohannon also took an off-balance crazy three. I'd rather have the ball in Keegan's hands to create something late in the clock in those situations...whether it's shooting or dishing. He can be a facilitator too.

I think the point I was trying make was that, sometimes feeding the guy who can get a good shot on his own is the right decision. There were stretches in the second half where we were weren't getting good looks and I think the offense should have gone through him more often.

When jbos on he can shoot pretty much whatever 3 he wants. I'd prefer he didn't shoot any 2s but easy layups though.

Are you really going to complain about JT and JBO'S offensive performance last night? Seriously?

That's not what I'm doing...they both played great yesterday...I'm talking about Murray taking over late in the clock and using his skill to get the best shot possible. I want him to be more selfish in that regard. He's clearly the best we have at creating their own shot.

During the cupcake portion of the Hawks program, he had Filip down low a lot and never gave him the ball. Keegan is going to have to give it up more now against tougher comp, he will

No one is complaining. Get a grip dude.
JT and JBo are both capable of making some tough shots. They both did it several times last night so I was fine with the shots they took. JT showed he can deliver in crunch time as has Jbo. Keegan has been super aggressive in finding his shot this year and last night was no exception. When it's not there he's passed it off as he should. This offense is on fire. Now if we could just find a defense...

He's the best we have at pretty much everything. I really don't want anyone forcing anything though, including Keegan. There's too much offensive firepower to leverage to do that. This offense is something to behold when everyone is playing well and together.

I do think he does defer a bit more than he should right now, but he is still a pretty young player. I think J-Bo can really help him out this year and he can assume the role more over time.

While some other players would be screaming and pounding their chests after that killer shot, Keegan just goes downcourt and blocks the Gophers next shot to ice the victory. Enjoy him while you can!

Too funny...I posted the OP right after the Virginia game. He's figured out how to be patient in the post and work for your shot. Damn...he's so good around the basket and crazy strong. That's the thing that I'm most shocked about...he's so strong and uses it to create space...and he doesn't need much space with his elevation. He's just flat out fun to watch.

The three in clutch time should help in his player of the year campaign...if he keeps doing that...and we can finish strong...he's in the hunt.

I won't ruin the thread by complaining about Fran and his down the stretch decision making...nothing like allowing a team to get back into it with dumb freaking decisions. Our man defense was solid most of the game...but Fran goes zone down the stretch...even after they bury three or four threes...Fran stays in zone. Unbelievable.
