Rick Webster tweeted out his starting line up.

As you can see, Kenyon Murray gave us a line up to consider:
Joe T
Kris Murray
PMac
Keegan
Filip

And note this interaction at the end when it came to the starting line up:

Fan:
No jbo? I mean I like your line up but Connor and jbo coming off bench, Fran won’t have that will he?

Kenyon: Why not?

Kenyon, I love that lineup. I think it would be our best defensive lineup. When people see that lineup they act like nobody else is going to play. The bench is also very important and blending some of these bench players with experience in with the first group will only make the team stronger. It is all about TEAM and what gives us the best chance of winning.

Regarding Connor + Jordan: Do you really think that two guys who are multi-year starters will come off the bench for their senior year?

Not gonna happen folks

I expect Touissant, Perkins, or Ulis to transfer, and I can't blame them.
Care to make a wager on that?

I’d rather see Perkins at the 2 with Joe T and Ulis splitting time at the point. JBo spells Perkins and Connor will be coming off of double hip surgery so doubt he sees a starting line up when he doesn’t bring anything to the offensive end of the court.

Love the line up the Murray brothers starting with Filip at the 5. That’s an athletic team with Patrick added to the mix too. Fran has got to start the youth movement immediately so the guys are seasoned by tournament time as this will be a much more athletic team. Can you imagine if Weizy were to come back? Highly doubt it but you never know.

Fran is having JBo come back for the same reason KU wants CJ, they both want to make sure they have a proven shooter. What that tells me is, Fran isn't sure the other guys will be successful shooting 3's. We'll see who's able to step up.

My allegiance aside, does anyone really think Fran is gonna bench his own son, and a proven starter (who holds two two Iowa records)? Yes, they both have limitations, but if Touissant, Perkins, or Uhlis were better - they would've gotten more PT. This could get very interesting, if not ugly, for Fran. He isnt exactly famous for putting the best players on the floor (that's not my observation, its what I've read here on HR), and is loyal to a fault.

I like Kenyon's lineup. Bohannon and Connor in reduced roles off the bench. Bohannon 12- 20 minutes per game depending on the ratio of his makes from 3 vs how poor his D is. Connor single digits, spot duty.
Look, If it were me, I would bring them off the bench, but JBO will play 20+ minutes and Connor will play somewhere in the neighborhood of 20. I believe they SHOULD play less to help accelerate the development of our younger guys. But....

He may not, but he should if he wants to win. Without Garza to throw in 24pts per game, and most likely Joe W. we lose almost half of our offense, and our top two rebounders, ( and yes I realize that Keegan is the top rebounder by boards per minutes played). CMac provides neither scoring or rebounding, nor will we have the same consistent inside post player to feed. He really can't justify playing Cmac at the 4 or 1 next season over the other available options, and he certainly can't play him as a wing who can neither shoot or drive to score.

Kenyon's proposed lineup(and my suggestions)is closer to what I'd prefer, not necessarily what I expect.
It certainly won't surprise me to see Bohannon out there chucking contested 3s on one end and getting blown by repeatedly on the other. I see no reason for Connor to get 20 minutes now that the post feed will have a massively reduced role. But it's Fran, so again that would be par for the course.

They would be awesome off the bench together. I feel it

No matter which way Fran goes half the board will kill him and the other half will still bitch. A top 5 team and the best player in the nation last year and over half the threads BITCHED....

There could come a point in the season where Kenyon's starting 5 is reality but it won't be early in the season.

JBo will start, no question. Kris will have to improve as Keegan did to get the starting nod. I'm sure he's fully capable of doing so.

I think Keegan played more because it was too obvious to ignore, not because he "improved".

Kenyon is dead on correct. That should be the starting 5.

I saw enough out of Kris Murray in his very limited run to know that he could have greatly contributed to last year's team. He is going to be a stud. Keegan is going to be an All-Timer here and a high pick. Give these two the rock as primary scorers and let them see what they can do. JBo is a perfect 6th man. CMac is a perfect 7th man. Sure wish we had Nunge coming back.

I think we're going to be pretty damn good next year with the talent that we have. Especially considering that we're going to be losing the production of Garza, Weiskamp, Nunge, and Frederick. We'll be even better the following year.

Stop selling these young kids short before they have had a chance to prove what they can do as a unit without Garza dominating the touches.

Would be a tall and athletic team but not sure any of them are much of a 3 point threat if you go on last years stats. Not much info on Kris Murray but seems unlikely he is a real 3 point threat and the rest have shown they are all around 30% or less. But maybe a year can change that

Kris should have been playing ahead of Connor this year. I like that starting lineup as long as Perkins gets at least 20 minutes a game. I would possibly start Perkins over PMac/Kris depending on who ends up the better outside threat. Connor should get 0 minutes with the more talented young bucks passing him by. JBo is probably starting which puts Kris/Pmac/Perkins fighting for the last spot. I don't think it matters which starts because all will play a lot as long as Cmac isn't getting minutes.
