Has he had a good enough tourney to save his job? It seems like he has done "just good enough" recently in the tourney(i.e. K Gadson last year) to save his job.

With four quarterfinalists this morning(granted, only one won), did he do enough yet again?

As a Hawk fan it never bothers me to see ISU struggle in anything :)
As a wrestling fan, it bothers me to see them where they are at.

I should have asked. Who will they go after? What potentially quality assistants are out there that would want it?

They have done better than expected, but not enough to change my mind. Have to look at the entire body of work, not just 1 tournament.

That said, I agr e Pollard won't make a move.

He's gone. I really hope they pull in a big namer to replace KJ. As stated above, college wrestling is better as a whole when ISU is relevant. I really miss the crazy duals between the Hawkeyes and Cyclones too.

Bring in Mark Perry or like J Jaggers, idfk.

Finished like 15th last year and they signed him to an extension. Will finish around the same this year. Little reason to think they will let him go for it.

If Hall, Weatherman, and Downey win tonight that's 4 AA's when's the last time ISU did that? I'd think that'd be enough to keep him off the chopping block

College wrestling is doing just fine with Iowa State being in the shitter. And frankly, with the limited number of HS studs coming out of the state, it's good not to have to recruit against them right now.

This is the correct answer. With the absolute lack of top end talent in the State, it always make it difficult to get some kids to go 1000+ miles to wrestle.

What is really funny is how elated many Clone fans are with three mid-low AAs. What do you think the response would be from Hawk fans if you flipped the ISU/Iowa seasons since KJ took over?

I think Iowa should shun ISU and not schedule them. I would send a message by scheduling an ASU or NCst, basically saying if you don't want to be relevant, we aren't going to schedule you.

This might be a possibility if it were not for the fact that Tnt don't like KJ very much and I would guess they really enjoy kicking the shit out of KJ coached teams.

Minny and ISU are in for a likely prolonged residence outside the top ten.

If you look at the team standings after the Friday nite results... it shows just how thin the team quality is once you get past the top eight or so.

That's how I feel about the football game.

I enjoy both the football game and the dual. And, I'm not going to lie, but it is gratifying to see Minny and ISU in a down state and how we abused both of them in duals this year. But, for the love of the sport, I'm hoping that they do rise up a little in the future, just not enough to take over the Hawks.
