He is injuredResar? That's a big fat NO. Lester saw him practice for 12 minutes in the fall and moved him to WR. Yet another QB recruiting gem by Kirk and Brian.

Yup heard that, he is officially a WR thoughHe is injured
Iowa has had QBs switch to other positions and done well. Other schools have too.Resar? That's a big fat NO. Lester saw him practice for 12 minutes in the fall and moved him to WR. Yet another QB recruiting gem by Kirk and Brian.
Guess most are too young to remember when an NFL team ran out of QBs and used a HB and won.cade looks good to go from reports

Don’t they have a freshman on the roster? Get the guy some reps.
With this topic in mind...relevant question. Which guys on the roster are former quarterbacks? There are usually a few. Were Coop still here he'd be in line no doubt.Guess most are too young to remember when an NFL team ran out of QBs and used a HB and won.

Sadly, I’d take Deacon sneaks and hand offs for the entirety of the next two games. Not like those games will be electric anyway. If we could win games with Deacon Hill, we should be able to suit up a couple HS QB's out of the stands and be OK.
I think Lester is jumping on the grenade. JMO.Again, Lester made it sound like it's his decision on who is QB1.
And Lester obviously talks to KF about it and then KF has to answer the questions (and take all the heat) at the weekly press conferences.
Derp.I think Lester is jumping on the grenade. JMO.

To be somewhat fair to him, he only had fall camp and practiced as the backup. Probably a lot to absorb in a short period.I just wonder if Sully was bad in practice like he was bad at UCLA
Might sound crazy but I agree. Decon's size led to quite a few sneaks on his part. We need to run the ball against these next two opponents.Sadly, I’d take Deacon sneaks and hand offs for the entirety of the next two games. Not like those games will be electric anyway.

He wasn’t sharp for sure but pitiful tackling lost that game as far as I’m concerned. Way too may YAC’s.I just wonder if Sully was bad in practice like he was bad at UCLA

Schulte was efficient at Xavier. With this topic in mind...relevant question. Which guys on the roster are former quarterbacks? There are usually a few. Were Coop still here he'd be in line no doubt.
Nope. He screwed up too much.Sadly, I’d take Deacon sneaks and hand offs for the entirety of the next two games. Not like those games will be electric anyway.
interesting, it would be pretty cool to improve both offense and defense with that one move.Schulte was efficient at Xavier.
So why are you so sure that he wasn't told to do that? If you recall in an interview he was asked about that prior to the UCLA game. He said he would take what was there on 1st and 2nd down and do what he had to on 3rd and 4th. Sounds like he was coached, he just reverted to his instincts during the game.I know adrenaline takes over and Sullivan wanted to get every yard that he could. However, given our current situation at QB, shouldn't there have been an emphasis from the coaching staff to slide or actively avoid contact? Sullivan was getting absolutely smoked over and over again in the UCLA game. I guess I just don't get it? Tell him to get some yards and then step out of bounds or slide.
I think thats in the huddle and pre huddle. You can see the QB sometimes covering the ear holes in the helmet before they go into the huddle. I believe thats when Lester is communicating. I doubt he's talking to them at the LOS. To much going on, crowd noise etc. to have him in the QB's ear at that point.Doesn't Lester radio down play changes to the QB's headset and then the QB changes the play?
IT USED TO BE that the QB was in charge of reading the defense & changing the play
Now, I don't know....
There has to be some of that. Not so much talent potential, but decision making. If there were't issue with some of that , then you have to wonder why he was 2nd or even 3rd string (by some accounts ) at NW after their spring practice. You also have to remember he didn't actually get to start practicing with the Hawks until fall camp and then coming into a totally new system.I just wonder if Sully was bad in practice like he was bad at UCLA

Yeah you would think if Cade was traveling and dressing he would be a captain at this away game.
