I do worry a bit that with the West wrapped up, KF may go ultra conservative next week. Let the ripping begin, I just hope we go all out to beat them.

On offense, Iowa will throw the bomb on every play ....except when they mix in a triple reverse or a halfback pass. There will be no punts.

On defense, safety blitzes galore.

Kick-off and punt return will look like the Stanford / Cal band play.

I think we will see the Statue of Washington and Statue of Lincoln plays. Kirk holds nothing back.

I would like to think the Corncob's comments about not wanting to be at the level Iowa is would come into play a couple times this week

It seems like Iowa has gotten a little more conservative the last few games. Keep playing to win!

More conservative? The Hawks scored 40 the last two weeks (even with the wind as a factor today). I think it's funny -- in a good way; no slam here -- that we still find fault with an 11-0 team. :)

If you listened or read Ferentz's after game comments, he is still upset about the loss to NU last year.
If there's one constant through KF's years, good or bad........if you rub Ferentz the wrong way the year prior, he will remember, and your team should be worried.

Not only the Nebraska AD's comments, but the loss in itself. I am glad they were not looking forward to this game and took care of business, but I would bet there is much locker room material this week.

I sure hope you guys are right. Nothing would make this season sweeter than to come out and punch Nebraska in the mouth.the whip cream before the cherry.

40-35, Hawks win.....oh wait.
Yea a 5 point win vs a very suspect Minnesota team doesn't really fit the narrative that teams who embarrassed Iowa should "be worried" about the next meeting. If I were a team as weak as NE this year, and you told me I'd be within a TD of an undefeated #3 team, I'd be estatic. The point is, KF doesn't seem to hold a grudge, this is just a very good team who keeps winning in the same fashion regardless of opponent (Sans that Texas team).

Yeah, I think grudge is the wrong word. He may be more motivated in some way, but probably out of disappointment with how Iowa imploded at the end of last year. In other words, it won't be about revenge or grudges, but about playing a complete game, returning the trophy to Iowa City, staying unbeaten, and putting last year's embarrassment to bed.

Ten Reasons Why We Win!

1. OT loss at home last year. This really bothered KF
2. Nebraska AD's comments. We just be " Lil ol' Iowa", but we don't take kindly to insults.
3. Trophy game. We want to fill that trophy case and it would seem incomplete w/o the Heroes trophy.
4. The Hawks have goals that have not been completed.
5. Off the field distractions. There is some problems waiting for Nebby players.
6. Pressure. Not so much for the Hawks because we are the West Division Champs! Nebby has more than us cause they need bowl eligibility.
7. Bye Week. Just cause they have extra time to prepare don't mean squat. If anything they will come out flat after a week off. Byes not always a good thing.
8. One-dimensional. Inconsistent run game. You can't run, you can't win.
9. Bad losses. When things get tough, it will start to creep up on them and their mindset.
10. We a flat out better than them. Our team is one of the most focused, well balanced teams in the country. They won't let themselves lose this one.
