It appears to be a myth perpetuated by some Iowa fans and the networks hyping the game.

Facts matter. Results matter.

“Never argue with an idiot, they’ll drag you down to their level then beat you with experience”- George Carlin

Also, plenty of coaches and players have said Kinnick, especially at night, is one of the toughest places in the country to play. I’ll take their word.

It was pretty loud. My decibel thing on my phone maxed out at 108.8 but I don’t think I ran it during play. Only when the clock was stopped.

I think what the OP is saying is that since Iowa lost last night, in Kinnick, the stadium, fans and atmosphere basically suck. He expected laser beams to shoot out of the press box, localized mirco-earthquakes to erupt on the field and the winds of Ragnarok to emerge from the heavens. All to the detriment of the guys in white.

Iowa comes in at #21 among P5 teams since 2003 at a 74% home winning percentage. The B1G teams ahead of them are Ohio St, Wisconsin, Penn St, and Michigan. It’s not too surprising that the better the team, the better the home field advantage.

I've talked to some fans that attended the game, including my son, and let them know that I was not impressed with their effort. I've suggested off-season screaming and hand-waving training. And, for God's sake, where were the frickin' signs? I saw a limited amount of face paint, and that's just not going to get it done. Pitiful!

I realize some our fans are young, and some are only 2 star fans, but the effort simply wasn't there last night. The current situation is intolerable! After all, I have paid no money so I can sit in my family room and watch on TV, while they actually go to the games and put on that disgraceful performance.

Perfect example of the love to complain fan. The crowd was not the problem yesterday.

did you think Iowa was never going to lose at home again?
even the big dogs lose at home from time to time.
that was a moronic post......

Being at the game, there were a huge number of LONG, TV timeouts, it killed the crowd. it also became difficult for teams to build momentum. The crowd actually started to boo them. I think day games are better for this reason.
