Budmayr WAS from outside the program.More importantly, go outside the program to show our players that he’s serious!
You sound really creepy. Who's Hawkeye underwear do you own?Wrong. Gotta love a bunch of "fans" who probably don't even own a pair of Hawkeye's underwear trying to "unfan" us old-timers who actually respect the work that BF did for the team. Go find a better six year run (in wins & losses) than we've had since 2017. I will be here waiting.
Well duh!So expect another incompetent crony as the new OC rather than some blue chip.......
You and I both know it’s not that easy.Guess you should find another team.
' Kirk crushed the ball carrier' ( as he pushed him out of bounds)Dolph have any Dolphisms?
Gary Dolphin is a great guy. We were stuck in the car on the road for the MN game. Tuned in to the Game. The play by play was so bad we couldn't tell what was going on. It was really bad.' Kirk crushed the ball carrier' ( as he pushed him out of bounds)
Try watching a game and listening to Dolph, it's hilarious. What is happening isn't what is being described.
And Eddie lol. He wants to be anywhere but at the game.
Woody and Bo both coached longer than Ferentz has and got their wins with twice as much talent. He's in it to become the coach with the most Big Ten wins. He's been nothing special; only projected to reach it just out of the extreme length of his tenure. I don't feel like he deserves that title. If the legendary Big Ten coaches in the past had more time, they could have won more games too.
First of all, the OL didn't start to crumble until Polasek left. Second, his job here was the one and only time he was an OL coach. He's now an OC/QB, which is what he should be (and should have been when he was here), and would be a huge upgrade. Please no Polasek. He was the root cause of our OL problems. Chryst on the other hand is a very good offensive mind and QB coach.
Different program, thenBudmayr WAS from outside the program.
Why wouldn't you be?I am actually very happy about this.
How they been doing the last 6 years?Bo Pelini had more wins in his seven year stint at Nebraska than any seven year span Kirk has ever had at iowa. And he got fired. Some fan bases are willing to put up with more than others.
THen he needs to have a come-to-jesus meeting with himself and agree that the offense has to be SIGNIFICANTLY upgraded to compete for BIG titles and playoff spots. If he continues down the "I don't know offense" vomiting, then BG may be forced to take him bird watching.Extended comments from Iowa HC Kirk Ferentz on his radio show tonight:
Yesterday, he deflected two questions about whether he'd be back next year by saying he was focused on Saturday's game and the last 4 games:
“I was not trying to intentionally cause celebration for some people who would love to see me go start a stamp collection or go bird watching or whatever. … The intent was to try to steer this thing back to what is important right now. I enjoy coaching. Fortunately, I feel really good. The doctors tell me I’m OK; I hope they’re right. I hope to keep doing this for quite a while. I’ve always loved being here. I’ve been here 34 years now. … I like what I do, and most of all I like the young people we’ve had a chance to work with. It was that way in 1981.”
“I like our players, I like coming into our building, I like what I do. In a sick way, I like the highs and I like the lows. Everybody likes the highs, but the lows are tough on you. But that’s what makes the highs good, too, and that’s what I think you’re chasing. When you quit playing, your whole life you’re chasing that, and that’s why people are dumb enough to get into coaching or whatever it may be. Hopefully you’re helping some younger people along the way, too.”
“So, until they tell me to sit down, I’ll probably keep going.”
Dolph said he’ll take that as a yes that he’ll be back in 2024.
Ferentz: “Hopefully a couple years, yeah.”
I hope BG forces the process of posting the position for X days and requiring outside candidates so KF doesn't keep the SSDD offense going.Agree with KF keeping it in-house.. easier to move internal folks around that you trust, share your vision and are aligned culturally (assuming they have the right work ethic and capacity to grow/develop). Hiring an external OC would be a much larger resource/time suck and could be a major disrupter (either in a positive or negative way). It wouldn't be like KF to take on that level of risk.
No posting yet I am gonna be sure to watch for it so can post it here for a few dozen of you to apply for it.I hope BG forced the process of posting the position for X days and requiring outside candidates so KF doesn't keep the SSDD offense going.
Pay me what BF made, if I don't have the offense better by the time 2 years passes, I will walk away.No posting yet I am gonna be sure to watch for it so can post it here for a few dozen of you to apply for it.
He currently has his team's offense 6 spots above Iowa.First of all, the OL didn't start to crumble until Polasek left. Second, his job here was the one and only time he was an OL coach. He's now an OC/QB, which is what he should be (and should have been when he was here), and would be a huge upgrade.
We need a flea flicker every now and then, k?Pay me what BF made, if I don't have the offense better by the time 2 years passes, I will walk away.
Christ my 4th grade Metro flag team was more creative and productive than the shite show on Saturday's the past several years.
I could possibly unretire and apply for the job IF the pay is adequate. No posting yet I am gonna be sure to watch for it so can post it here for a few dozen of you to apply for it.
Too rudimentary. We need a flea flicker every now and then, k?
I'm sure it will. It just won't end well for Kirk. It's just a matter of whether or not he wants to be a b**** and bring down a bunch of people with him or not....................deal with it.What? Oh it's still there.
KF vs BG is just beginning.
I'm sure it will. It just won't end well for Kirk. It's just a matter of whether or not he wants to be a b**** and bring down a bunch of people with him or not....................deal with it.
Cosmic, ehh?........Define "End Well".
He is a multi-millionaire. I am sure he wont do BG any favors.
I am going to get lots of amusement out of this. I will deal with it just fine. At the end of the day, its all a cosmic joke.
What are you talking about? All I was doing is countering singlets contention that the 6 years starting in 2017 were the best 6 years in Hawkeye football history. They weren't. The late '50s were.Lol. Very, very, very few teams accomplish this. Maybe you should root for Bama. You act like Iowa is a perennial 4 win team.
I’d say you have two programs trending in opposite directions recently. Nebraska is on the rise. And Iowa has not been with Brian. Hopefully that changes with the new offense. How they been doing the last 6 years?
I'll help you, cuz you need it.
Averaging 3.4 wins a season.
You waste disk space on here. Lot's of it.
Iowa > NebraskaI’d say you have two programs trending in opposite directions recently. Nebraska is on the rise. And Iowa has not been with Brian. Hopefully that changes with the new offense.
I'd argue 1981-1987 was the best, if you're going that length of time. From a wins perspective it's not gonna look as flashy, but they also played fewer games back then, and CFB was just a different sport in those days. What are you talking about? All I was doing is countering singlets contention that the 6 years starting in 2017 were the best 6 years in Hawkeye football history. They weren't. The late '50s were.
Try actually reading before responding with nonsense.
I mean the last five years, definitely. All depends on this new offensive coordinator now.Iowa > Nebraska
Well, mine. WTH? Why would I wear someone else's underwear? You guys still have zero comeback to total wins. I know that correlation isn't causation but there is a lot of correlation between most wins over a six year period in team history and BF being the OC. This is not opinion. People thinking that 10 win seasons aren't enough to keep your job at Iowa aren't real fans, IMO.You sound really creepy. Who's Hawkeye underwear do you own?
Little early to say Nebraska is on the rise with wins over Northern Illinois, LA Tech, and the 3 worst teams in the West.I’d say you have two programs trending in opposite directions recently. Nebraska is on the rise. And Iowa has not been with Brian. Hopefully that changes with the new offense.
Actually, it was a huge FU to a certain section of the fan base.Put out by his PR Firm as a FU to the acting AD.
No I'm always going to have hope something good will change the course of Iowa football to turn the offense around. Now that it's confirmed The Capt will be back, we can resign ourselves to having a continuing offensive abyss.
Junior was inept but also was handcuffed to working within institutionalized obsolescence.
Until The Capt's SCHEME is gone, we are doomed.
Along with the how many other 100+ years that both schools have had football programs at the same time............I mean the last five years, definitely.
I would have to disagree.I'd argue 1981-1987 was the best, if you're going that length of time. From a wins perspective it's not gonna look as flashy, but they also played fewer games back then, and CFB was just a different sport in those days.
I would have to disagree.
Evy's last 5 years he had 4 Top 10 final rankings, 2 Rose Bowl wins, 2 outright Big 10 titles and 1 shared title, and a National Championship.
Pretty hard to beat that!
A case can definitely be made for Howard. 2 straight undefeated seasons in a row!Howard Jones. Early 1920's.
1921 - Iowas best ever team
