Legit/real or not, WH tweet leaks are fantastic entertainment...

US is in for a long haul on this, if we cannot get our Rt numbers significantly below 1.

We have 1,000,000 active cases, currently. An Rt of 0.9 means we'll end up with another 900,000 infected from that group. And because recovery can be 3 weeks or more, we can still be increasing in active case #s even though the Rt is less than 1.

This is why our case counts are still growing, linearly, even though we've brought the Rt below 1 in most states. Our social distancing mitigation measures are "very leaky" compared with other countries. And that's going to prolong this outbreak much much longer than anywhere else (aside from 3rd world countries with poor health infrastructure).

If "re-opening" brings our Rt numbers above one, say 'goodbye' to linear growth and back to a geometric increase.

I'm not optimistic on our chances here.

To some people, freedom and liberty mean that you don't have to follow the rules. There is very little discipline in this country when it comes to things that are inconvenient.

Then, they yell, "I love America!", even though they are perfectly willing to infect other people in this country because they don't want to wear a mask. They fly the American flag outside their house to prove that they love America, but refuse to follow simple rules for the greater good.

These are the modern day "patriots".

I haven't been able to find the count of higher than normal deaths by state. I'd like to see that info and when it started to diverge from the norm.

Given the worldwide stats, I'd be willing to bet the real numbers are closer to 2x the stated numbers than the actual stated numbers.

This guy has started tracking/counting that:

Only has a few hotspot states up, but I believe they are adding as they acquire the data.

Generally, divergence from "the norm" has been March or later. Everywhere that's been hit
