Leistikow Article about PatMac and ConMac (no JacMac)

PatMac put on 29 pounds since this time last year. He's still light, but dam, it's gotta help. ConMac has put on 12 pounds, I think, since season end (he didn't specify time-frame).

They are both optimistic about Garza returning. If so, that's 7 returning starters plus PatMac.

7 on 7? :)

We have a great nucleus + Nunge/PMac have dipped their toe in, not entirely sure what to expect + 5 New faces that in my opinion are all gravy. I anticipate a couple of the freshman will step up and see some consistent bench minutes.

The youngest one is going to be an even better player from some reports.

The first ten games of playing for the incoming freshmen should be interesting. The key as a fan is not to get too flustered with the inconsistencies during those games. Remember how much JoeT grew last year.

I am getting excited, but Football first!

The "bad" news in that article, for those of us who are anxiously awaiting Luka's decision, is that he has gone from an early June date to having until Aug. 3 (or 10 days after the NBA Combine, whichever is sooner) to withdraw from the draft, now scheduled for Oct. 15.

Had to check the article to comprehend PMac’s weight gain: 176 to a present 205 lbs in one year. That is going to seriously change his game.

Connor is a hell of a player, the epitome of a coaches son.

He is a good player. He really shines when there are 4 other scorers on the floor, he does not really care if he scores, he will just move the ball and get it to people where they can succeed. That is important on good teams. Every good team needs guys who just want to win and don't care about points. With that said, if he can continue to improve his 3-point accuracy it will make him even more dangerous and not allow teams to leave him alone. He went from 21% to 34% in one year, if he takes the next step to near 40% then that's huge for his game and the team.

For sure. I just don't get the people who still badmouth Connor. He was a big reason Iowa bounced back from the 14-19 disaster two seasons ago. Suddenly Fran could put multiple ball handlers on the floor at once, instead of relying on Ellingson to play spot minutes at the point so Bohannon could get a rest. Wieskamp was obviously a factor too, don't get me wrong, but Connor took a lot of pressure off of Bohannon and excelled at ball distribution. We didn't have that flexibility the season before, and the team suffered for it.

He led the country in A/TO ratio last season. That ain't nepotism, folks, that's called earning your minutes.

As for replacing Kriener, Nunge should be able to handle that role provided he stays healthy. He's still got a lot to prove, but the talent is there. Talent + opportunity + hard work = success (usually). Here's hoping he's been putting in the work this summer.

I haven't been on here a ton this summer but are people really badmouthing him still? There might be a few haters but I saw overwhelming praise....like to the point it seemed like people were making up for bashing him the year before. If Connor improves as much in yr 3 as he did his second year we will all be smiling. Given they play the season of course

I just hope there is a season to watch the boys play.

Iowa is loaded and can go deep to find the right combination on the floor..Joe T, Connor, JBo, CJ, Weezy, Luka, PMac, Jack, then all the incoming freshman that will help solidify this team.

Just hope we get to see some football and a lot of b-ball.
