Not only did he piss it all away, it sounds like he was then in debt 31 million dollars. Quite the turnaround there.
I used to read about any sports biography/non-fiction I could find starting with Ball Four and I read his book Nails about the 1986 WS season. I remember it was entertaining. Crazy how far he fell. Of course, he got into drugs, went to prison, etc. He could have had it made.
Hey, he should join Hawkeye Bacon. He and Phenomenally Frantastic would really hit it off.
Loved watching him play baseball though. I think it would have been a lot of fun to be on that 93 Phillies team.

Well, maybe. Daulton is dead and Schilling is about as stable as Dykstra. I cannot imagine how much booze, cocaine, and steroids were pulsing through that clubhouse.
Darren Daulton died from glioblastoma. It is not caused because of a certain life style.
