Is in the 1%, so why are so many here inclined to vote for those who don't look out for their best interests? If you vote strictly on social issues, you have an argument.
What do you mean by "in the 1%"?Is in the 1%, so why are so many here inclined to vote for those who don't look out for their best interests? If you vote strictly on social issues, you have an argument.
I would say religion...but let's be honest, Jesus would definitely vote Democrat.
For the same reason that someone in the 1% vote Democratic. Is in the 1%, so why are so many here inclined to vote for those who don't look out for their best interests? If you vote strictly on social issues, you have an argument.

What if someone's in the middle class, yet disagrees with virtually every one of the GOP's typical platforms on social issues? If you are a middle class adult, it probably means:
1) You have a decent job.
2) You have remained married.
Which party wants to control the border and enact policies that will grow jobs (think Texas type growth)? Which party wants to encourage the family unit?
If you're a 1%er, vote however you want to vote. If you're on welfare, better keep voting D. If you're in the middle class, you ought to be voting R.

When you have candidates like Rubio, Huckabee, and Walker saying they don't believe in a woman's right to choose an abortion even in cases of rape, incest, or her life is in danger, that demonstrates a significant misogynist opinion; ie., the fetuses life is more important than the mother's.I assume you must mean religion, gay rights, and abortion for the most part?
Does the GOP force you to go to Church or believe in a Christian God? No, they do not.
Does the GOP have the power to over-turn SCOTUS rulings to date? No, they do not.
Has anybody serious in the GOP claimed they will over-turn Roe v Wade? No, not to my knowledge.
Here is the difference between the two parties:
GOP says you get to choose. Democrats want to force your choice since they know best.
nowhere under God's law does it state one must take the mother's life more seriously than the baby's, and it's funny, nowhere does it state that one day man shall call it a fetus so it is ok to kill it, like killing a kitten- you can keep on with your views all you like, but they are worldly viewsWhen you have candidates like Rubio, Huckabee, and Walker saying they don't believe in a woman's right to choose an abortion even in cases of rape, incest, or her life is in danger, that demonstrates a significant misogynist opinion; ie., the fetuses life is more important than the mother's.
Huckabee has said he would fight to overturn Roe v Wade, and the same-sex marriage ruling.
Cruz and Walker came out saying they would support a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.
Several candidates have indicated hostile feelings towards Muslims, despite the lack of evidence that the philosophies expressed by ISIS and similar groups are even remotely close to how a majority of American Muslims feel.
Now, do they honestly have the power to accomplish all of their rhetoric? Perhaps not. However, it's the mindset of such candidates that makes one question their other political ideas and how they would govern for the entire nation, not just the people who are like-minded.
Appearances do matter whether you choose to believe that or not.
Mr Happy. Not a single person running for president in either major party gives two craps about any of us, other than saying whatever it takes to get elected. The only thing they care is appealing to the special interests, be they unions, Big Oil, the Big Three, military contractors (the Boeings, Martin Marrietas, Hughes, etc) or any other entity that will contribute huge $$$ to their campaigns and PACs. The quicker all of you people who put D or R first get that through your thick skulls, the quicker we, as a country, can get our country back from the politicians and special interests.
Until then, those same politicians and special interests are going to screw every one of us.
Nobody cares about your "God's law." It's irrelevant to the discussion.nowhere under God's law does it state one must take the mother's life more seriously than the baby's, and it's funny, nowhere does it state that one day man shall call it a fetus so it is ok to kill it, like killing a kitten- you can keep on with your views all you like, but they are worldly views
Mr Happy.
Which has led to these two areas being the fastest rising cost areas. But nobody understands thatWhat makes D party the party of choice? They want to hand out free college, healthcare and every other thing screwing the middle class as well. The middle class is the one that pays for everything regardless of which party is in charge.
I m an independent but lean R based on a stronger military and more incentives to people that earn it. We should not have anyone milking the system and at least create jobs with tax incentives to keep them employed.
You mean the Texas growth fueled by illegal labor? Or the plan to close the border that never gets passed when Rs have the power? Or the policies that would strip families of their healthcare, wage and worker safety rights? You've been conned. If you are a middle class adult, it probably means:
1) You have a decent job.
2) You have remained married.

Martin Luther King was a strong republican. Most people of faith are republican. To think Jesus would be for abortion, or other sinful democrat ideas is silly.I would say religion...but let's be honest, Jesus would definitely vote Democrat.
I never thought of it this way, but it's worth considering. Here is the difference between the two parties:
GOP says you get to choose. Democrats want to force your choice since they know best.
I think there is a good case to be made against all three of your points. The GOP wants tax money to go to the churches by outsourcing public welfare or educational duties. And they want to reintroduce religion to the public schools. Thats just this side of forcing people to be Christians.I assume you must mean religion, gay rights, and abortion for the most part?

I'd be all for making them equal. Lets do just that.I believe in equality for all, the 1%, the rest of the 99%, all means all
if you continually hammer the rich, then they might go away
I like having the rich around
Let me know when you find a pro choice R.I never thought of it this way, but it's worth considering.
it's not my law. and, this is the problem with this country and this world right now: we made it irrelevantNobody cares about your "God's law." It's irrelevant to the discussion.
Let me know when you find a pro choice R.
They sure plan to. You aren't paying attention if you don't think they plan to force this view on all.Again, that is a personal political viewpoint. Nobody is going to force it on you.
As it was in the beginning, and now, and always, and to the ages of agesit's not my law. and, this is the problem with this country and this world right now: we made it irrelevant
Then you are for a flat tax?I'd be all for making them equal. Lets do just that.
Tax them flat until they are equal. Then you are for a flat tax?
yep, every single land governed by mankind has failed in the past and this one will in the future, maybe near futureAs it was in the beginning, and now, and always, and to the ages of ages
Let me know when you find a pro choice R.

Parties do have the ability to overturn SCOTUS rulings by getting their representatives on the court. 4 of the 9 are over 75. The next POTUS/Congress may shape the court for generations. The GOP has emphatically had a goal to overturn Roe for decades and several of the POTUS candidates take the same stance towards SSM. Of course the bigger issue is the GOP's support for corporate personhood which threatens to enslave us all.
Not a single person running for president in either major party gives two craps about any of us...
We used to say the pledge of allegiance in Spanish. That would explode some heads around here.I love the political arguments on this site, it seems like it has to be "all or nothing". I don't see an issue with reintroducing religion back into schools, but have classes that educate kids on multiple religions. You never know, this country might just be a better place if more folks better understood religions other than their own. Where I think it gets crazy is bringing things like the Pledge of Allegiance into these battles with the religion card simply because it includes the word God. It's the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States, you choose to live in the United States, deal with it and if you don't want to say the word God then feel free not to do so.
Not really directed at you Natural, just the specific conversation.
