Let's say IOWA over Wisc; an Upset ??

Iowa is 3-0 and playing at Home, where they have done very well, recently.
(Less than 10 months ago, beat a Top 5 Ohio team)
Wisconsin just lost a home game to a 2-1 team

Even Las Vegas is only saying Wisc is a 3 point favorite.

Upset ? upset ?? idk GO HAWKS !!!!!!! :)

It would be considered a minor upset. Certainly not in the same category of OSU last year or Michigan in 2016 but an upset nonetheless.

Wisconsin has played in 5 of 7 Big Ten Championship Games.
Wisconsin has beaten Iowa the last 2 times they have played.
Wisconsin has beaten Iowa 5 of the last 6 games they have played.
Wisconsin has won 7 of the last 10 against Iowa.

Iowa has not beaten Wisconsin at Home since 2008.

the entire season is riding on this game.

All depends on how you look at it.

At the time the game, I'd say Iowa is a minor underdog by definition, since the line is Iowa +3.

If Iowa wins, goes to the Big 10 championship, and ends the season higher in the rankings, then I think it'd be safe to say that the better team won.

For example, when Iowa beat Michigan in 2002 that certainly would qualify as an upset when looking at the lead up to that game. But had we known then what we know now, I think most would have expected Iowa to win that game because that was a truly great team.

Rankings are opinion based. If one assess how the two teams have looked and the environment that the game is being played fairly- Iowa wins this game and (in my opinion) it will not be an upset. Iowa has worn down every FBS opponent down in the second half this year. Iowa turned a tight game against NIU into a convincing victory in the second half. Iowa wore out ISU in the 4th quarter- reminiscent of the glory years of Kirk Ferentz Iowa teams (pre-rhabdo). The depth on the defensive line is amazing.

once again... people seem to be under estimating the Wisconsin Badgers... who are arguably the most successful team in the Big Ten.
5 Big Ten Championship games.
2 more Big Ten Championship games than Ohio State.

Wisconsin is comparable to Golaith
and Iowa to David.

we are no longer living in the 90's

another concern I have is...
I suspect if Iowa does not score on its first possession.... those wearing gold in the black sections are gonna boo.

this is gonna be a tough hard fought football game... and both teams will be their strongest at the line of scrimmage early in the game.
last year our D-Line got pushed around.... I'm hoping to see more positive energy from that group this time around.

I think there are 2 major keys to winning:
1) who scores first
2) who turns the ball over first

I fully expect a 4 quarter football game.

I agree with most of what you're saying with the exception of the David vs Goliath part. While Wisconsin has been far more consistent and successful this current decade, both are practically mirror images of each other in terms of style and philosophy. Furthermore, almost every Wisconsin/Iowa game is hard fought and close. There have been very few blowouts. Outside of last year and 2013, all Wisconsin/Iowa games have been close (under 10 point victories).

It is strange that Iowa hasn't won inside Kinnick since 2008. That game was a 38-16 blowout by the Hawks. I don't expect a blowout Saturday, but I do think Iowa will likely win a close game.

It wasn’t an upset when Tommy “The Machine” Gunn knocked out Union Cane in Rocky V. It was an exposure. It was a paper champion finally being cornered. That’s Iowa beating Wisconsin in my mind. They’re a chihuahua wearing a spiked collar.

Simple as this. It's virtually a playoff for the West Division Title given how the rest of the competition looks.
