His son is about to sign on with Iowa. I am sure Levar wants to be there as his son plays.Well, let's be honest.
It's a move he needs to make.
If he wants to grow as a coach, at this given time, he needs to leave the Hawks.
I can see a return in the future.

I would imagine most first touch interviews are done virtually. It’s 2024….A virtual interview, huh? I’ll go out on a limb and say Woods is probably not their top target.
Iowa City! Are you serious?Hmmmmm...Tampa or Iowa City, Iowa City or Tampa?
If offered, that's a move that would be pretty tough to decline. He has to be feeling at his ceiling in IC and he seems like a guy who wants, and deserves, more.
This is interesting. I heard from a friend in Iowa City a couple weeks back, and I don’t know how valid it is, but that both Woods and Bell were particularly irritated with the large raise Seth Wallace got and felt slighted. 🤷♂️. I had heard at that time they may be looking at other positions. Again, don’t kill the messenger. Just passing on what I heard.
I think the special teams coaches sort of leave the kickers alone for the most part but mostly work with the players doing the punt and kickoff blocking and tackling. One guy out of their lane on kickoff coverage can really hurt as can a missed tackle. Really great blocking leads to big returns. The job security for an NFL special teams coach is what, 2 yrs before a new coaching staff is hired? Vs a school like Iowa where it’s a lifetime contract. There’s no comparison.
There’s no growth coaching nfl special teams vs college. What’s a coach going to teach an nfl caliber punter or kicker? They are already the best of the best.
Heard this too. I think he was slighted he didn’t get the AHC title. This is interesting. Where is Woods at in salary versus all other special teams coaches in college football? This is interesting. I thought quite high…..700kish. Can’t be a lot of special teams coaches, making more than that is there? In college?Where is Woods at in salary versus all other special teams coaches in college football?
Tampa by a mile. Are you kidding?Iowa City! Are you serious?

From an article from June he was 6th highest paid at $625k, but he’s at $700k now which would put him tied for #4. Of course others may have gotten raises as well.I thought quite high…..700kish. Can’t be a lot of special teams coaches, making more than that is there? In college?
This wouldn’t surprise me and I don’t blame them. This is interesting. He’s been a coach at Iowa longer than Wallace. I’d argue he also is the ST coordinator at a school that really depends on its special teams. Wallace’s position is no more important than Woods or Bell’s positions, imo. So, it’s understandable why Bell and Woods feel slighted. That being said, people who shop themselves around like Wallace has, get offers as well as promotion/raises quicker than their contempt co-workers. It’s a flaw in what should be a merit system but unfortunately is not.$625K in 2023 per this list. 6th highest (pretty good pay).
Guessing he would probably make around $1M in the NFL.
That shouldn’t matter of they’re looking to move up. If it matters it should actually help them.It surprises me, they are former players, longtime assistants and trusted staff…

He’s my next Hawkeye head coach if it was me.
Don’t expect Mason to sign with the Hawks. Also- if he leaves, this might impact Iose’s decision as well.
He is visiting other schools, I would say this is far from a givenHis son is about to sign on with Iowa. I am sure Levar wants to be there as his son plays.
Wallace attended Grinnell High School in Grinnell, Iowa, and was a four-year letterman (1997-2000) in football at Coe College. Wallace led the nation in punt returns in 1997 and is Coe’s career leader.Did I mishear or did Wallace say he was in charge of the punt team yesterday?
Thanks! I was listening at the gym last night and just remembered that comment this morning. Thanks for clearing up the confusion!Wallace attended Grinnell High School in Grinnell, Iowa, and was a four-year letterman (1997-2000) in football at Coe College. He said this when talking about his history at Iowa "believe it or not I oversaw the punt team for many many years..." so he was talking about the past.
Well, as my handle says, I spent considerable time in Tampa Bay. I wanted to move to FL from Iowa to escape cold winters, but who's to say Levar feels the same? IMO Tampa is a crowded clusterf@ck of a city and I didn't really like it, but I am not a big city kind of guy, either. I moved to Tampa only because that's where I was able to find work for the relocation. When I was able to go 100% remote after the covid outbreak, I got out of there so fast.. Moved to a small sleepy coastal town in FL. Much better.Hmmmmm...Tampa or Iowa City, Iowa City or Tampa?

I agree with this. It very well could be the opposite - Levar could advance his career and his kid would not have to be in his shadow.I wouldn’t bet a lot of money on that latter point.
