Liberals…just why

I know I'm weird but I find both this and the fact that our kids have to go through school shooting drills highly disturbing.

This isn't about not letting kids know that LGBTQ people exist. It's about not exposing kids to sexual content. I don't care if it's under the guise of "acceptance" or not.
And yet, cheerleaders.

People would rather have their kids stuff money into the g string of a drag queen than for someone to think they are anything less than 100% open minded. It’s like they joined a religion that seems normal at first, and they don’t see that they are at the “drink the kool-aid and cut off your Johnson” stage.

And yet, cheerleaders.

Quite frankly I find that disturbing as well, I see no reason for sexualizing teenagers like that.

That having been said there are a couple differences.

The cheerleaders are the same age as the kids being exposed to them.

Cheerleaders are a passive sort of sexualization, putting people in skimpy clothing and not nearly as blatent as someone who uses the name "Nikki Jizz"

Also parents can control of their child becomes a cheerleader or not. We don't right now know if parents got to decide if they wanted their kids attending a function being headed up by "Nikki Jizz".

Kind of . . . I more just see it as the left seems to believe that anything is acceptable as long as you promote it under the guise of "acceptance".

Huh. No prejudices involved in this, is there? You think the cheerleaders are only sexualized for their peers? They’re sexualized, period. Because our society sexualizes women, period. It’s so ingrained that even you, who actually tries to think about stuff, passes it off as relatively innocent.

And then there’s the assumption that a drag queen, while attending a school to address children, is any more or less sexualized than a teacher who chooses to dress provocatively. Do you know the message that this performer brought to the classroom?

I have a good friend who is trans and performs as a drag queen. They read to kids, too. And it’s entirely “appropriate” — just as appropriate as a religious leader dressed in their “weird” costume doing the same. Sorry, Hoosier, but you have to recognize all the bias and prejudice and preconceived notions you bring to the table.

Some of you could really use some broader exposure to more people from various backgrounds and persuasions. You just might be surprised how quickly so many prejudices get dispelled and deconstructed.

I'm not entirely opposed to drag queens as long as they are not dressed provocatively and don't use provocative names.

You seem to be ignoring some key facts.

1. This was an Adult
2. He was dressed provocatively
3. He went by the name "Nikki Jizz" There are porn stars with less provocative stage names then that. Stormy Daniels

As far as society sexualizing cheerleaders, I do find that disturbing but the question of if you sexualize a high school cheerleader as an adult is entirely up to you as an individual. You as a parent can also prevent you child from becoming a cheerleader.

Look you won't find disagreement from me that society sexualizes children. And no I don't think that's ok. I do think this is worse however. This is far more blatent.

But I will be the first to sign a petition that made high school cheerleader uniforms look like a track suit

To me it's not so much that a kid might see something sexualized. That's going to happen.

It's that you're specifically making that the feature of the interaction for the kid in the given scenario. To purposefully place them in a sexualized situation. That gets weird for most people pretty quick. (especially the younger the kid and the more sexualized the situation -- it calls into questions motives at some point)

You should attend one of these drag queen readings. I think you would be really surprised.

Nice. Do you think this is an “open-minded” take? It’s funny — your analogy. Quite funny. On so many levels.

I am not open minded to drag queen shows at public schools, no.
But apparently you’re open to characterizing a bunch of people you clearly know absolutely nothing about. Whether it’s drag queens or those who bring them into schools or those who accept their being brought into schools.

What you do know if fear, fear borne of your ignorance, and applying your own ignorance to the judgment of others—again, people about whom you clearly know nothing about.

Is this going to be the next drag queen story that turns out to be a fake? Shootings are going off by the day in our schools, and this is the type of shit that twists your panties in a bunch? Time to re-examine your mental state.
Why are you assuming theyre mutually exclusive?

Yeah, drag queens are so difficult to understand. LOL.

This, too, has been established. I appreciate that you feel a need to defend what you do, and how you do it. I’m just doing the same.

What’s a “normal” human? Maybe it’s a “moderate” republican?
maybe you should try being a moderate Democrat and quit acting like a ****ing lunatic!

yeah, go ahead, report me!!!! I deserve it!

Dude....getting worked up by anecdotal evidence/examples is a staple across the spectrum nowadays.

Blame social media.

Remember the central park Karen that was national news? A prime example of "white privilege/racism". Without social media that's not even a story....

There are hundreds of examples of these type things....

We take a anecdotal example and blow it up all out of proportion.

Gives folks a distorted view of where we're actually at in a country of 320 million...
Generally I agree with this point of view.

But if you don’t think this is widespread, I present to you an invitation to a drag show for teens at the Davenport Iowa public library.

“After performances from a local Drag Queen and Drag King, Miss Amber will give booktalks while everyone enjoys donuts and other yummy snacks.”

Davenport Drag Show

Not gonna lie, I always gave Rudy the benefit of the doubt that he had enough (call it confidence, moxy, fortitude idk) that if he got a vacation he would take it and have other things to do with his life before coming back after timeout and being a man about it. Would not have put him in the creates.multiple handles just to be heard everyday on Hort bucket.

I iz sadz.

The maniacal part of all of this is look at the date that the other handle was created! It’s not like it was yesterday. It literally was multiple years ago, like he knew this could potentially become an issue.

i’m guessing he created one for each state. Any bets?

Very strange. I really had him pegged as a straight shooter with tons of upward potential.

Is that even a word?

Humans normally treat other humans humanly…..until they get on a message board
I make up words all the time. I went to a gifted grade school. Yep, smart as well as athletic and beautiful. Tough deal, me. We had a class one year, called orthography. In it we studied how words are constructed and deconstructed and reconstructed. We were encouraged, once we understood the rules well, to play with word parts and create new words — especially those whose meaning would be inherently understandable (by most). As a hip hop kid who loved poetry, so word play in general, I loved it.

Now to humans and “humanely” — now we’re back to the thing for which I’ve expressed sincere care and concern. I think it’s “inhumane” to broad brush blanket-statement people. Cursing? Expressing genuine anger about what I consider to be a blatant example of inhumaneness (normalized, by the way, to such an extent that calling it out makes me the object of ridicule)? I find the opposition to that anger, frankly, pathetic — curse words or no curse words.

@BlackNGoldBleeder random tag because eff it, why not randomly tag one of HROT’s best douchebags?

Carry on, Mike. I respect you. A little.

When in the hell have we had daily school shootings?

If you want to have a serious conversation, don't be a chicken little.

Lookit... the entire "PRIDE" campaign is designed to make LGBTQXYZ "normal".

Well it's not normal. It'll never be normal. "Normal" means what usually happens. Transgender-queerness is the opposite of what usually happens.
“What usually happens” is rubes demeaning, beating the shit out of, or killing people they think aren’t “normal.” The reason they might not think these people are normal is because the people are so afraid to show the world who they are, having seen “what usually happens” to people who do. Getting people used to this stuff (which doesn’t seem super appropriate to me in this 5 second snippet ostensibly shot at an unnamed American grade school with no context provided) might make the next person who’s otherwise productive and harmless feel safer about being themselves.

I don’t believe that what’s presented in the tweet is legit, but I also don’t believe it’s radically different than having the cheerleaders and dance team come out and shake their asses to whatever’s in the top 40 at the moment.

Your interaction with me, recently, is a microcosm of what takes place here daily. You have no idea what is or isn’t being done from moment to moment. You don’t know who has been warned for their inability to control their language or expressing themselves in what is generally considered as sexist, bigotry, hateful, or just plain not being a normal human.

you, Sir, keep doing you. And I will continue to do me.
That applies to his other handles as well right? (Pay attention, Jose. I mean you.)

It's like the caravans and all the other BS the Republicans push to scare their stupid base, the drag queens are coming for YOUR school. Vote Dem and they'll put a "drag queen" into every elementary school!

Again, it's despicable and vile, but this is you and this is the Republican party. Gotta keep the stupid Republican rabble riled up over stupid shit that doesn't have any actual relevance to their lives.
Lol…Democrats have attempted to make a riot’s newsworthiness last for 18 months now, leading to a prime time hearing with MSNBC titling their coverage “American Coup” and “Attack on Democracy”. This is of course, coinciding with the “worse than Jim Crow” voting nonsense that resulted in record voter turnout.

But yeah…it’s totally the right with a monopoly on fearmongering.

Drag queens did a drag show at a grade school. And you think people taking issue with it is part of some sort of overall campaign against gays. Good grief.
