Local High school star leads MSU upset.

His buddy says he was "solid" and Izzo says he was not a good shooter but made some shots....this loss probably hurt a lot more than the 1st one, which they thought was a fluke. Clemmons is decent career 3pt shooter.
This year Clemmons is at 31% from the 3 but I agree, he can be very solid, especially when he makes his first.
That was no upset. We proved we are a better team than Michigan State in all phases 2 times.
Clemmons deserves a lot of credit for not taking his toys and going home after his sophomore year. Pretty rare in today's college basketball world.

The article itself was good but how does that writer get away with "they shot the bejesus out of the ball..."? Not only is it stupid and unnecessary, its blasphemous.
Love how Izzo referred to him as "one of ours." Uh,no Tommy, he is one of ours. He probably would have love to have gotten a MSU scholarship out of HS, but you demurred and we scooped him up. Tough kid and proud to have him as a Hawkeye.
Part of me says that's true, then the other part of me says it is awfully tough to beat a team 3 times in one season especially a good team.
But, who knows. I'm enjoying Iowa's success right now and there are no signs of it letting up soon.
I remember being at the renaming ceremony of the Basketball facilities upgrade. Had a chance to talk to a couple of assistants. Then had the pleasure of talking to Fran one of the last things he told my daughter and I was we have a kid on campus today that is a winner, and Hawk fans will love this kid. " if he commits" I leaned to Fran and said to him . " Clemmons from Michigan" he just winked at me and said what a great kid he is. That's a ceremony that I will never forget. I think Fran and staff is really good at getting high character kids in this program. Sapp could have left Iowa , but he stuck it out , I really appreciate him being a man. Sorry so long GO HAWKS

What a fantastic home coming for him in his senior year. Great stuff and very exciting for his friends and family.

imho, you have to look at career stats. Clemmons current 31% will likely go up by end of season.
His Career 3pt percentage is 35.6%....not the percentage of a bad 3pt shooter as Izzo descibed Clemmons. Izzo and Clemmons buddies were in denial after they were beaten a 2nd team, hence the back handed compliments
