Maybe the Gophers are about to get an experienced assistant coach. :D

(They are selfimposing a post season penalty. )

Self-imposed ban from the postseason this year.

Me thinks they are trying to save face in hopes the NCAA doesn't drop the hammer on them.

Also feel bad for the two grad transfers they have this year who had never played in the NCAA Tourney. Sucks for them.

Big Rick is bonding with Little Rick: Neither one will be in
the NCAA Tournament this year. Neither one will coaching
in 5 years, one will retired and the other fired.

At least they got laid.

Is it strange to anyone else that Louisville had to pay professionals to have sex with recruits or players? At the schools where I was a student (Ohio State and Iowa, a few years ago), the few athletes I knew had no problem finding very eager, attractive non-professional young ladies.

Good news as Louisville had just worked their way to a #2 seed after beating UNC

Rumor has it Minnesota has also placed a self imposed ban on making the post season this year due to the father son connection..

Once again the kids pay the price for the unethical activities of the coach and his staff. If Rick Pitino had any class he would state publically and plead with the school president the he be put on administrative leave immediately in exchange for the kids opportunity to play in the tourney. The NCAA should step in also with the same mandate. There is no reason to punish these kids including the grad freaking transfers for something adults established and permitted. What a joke.

Some of the players might be clean... but I'd bet most are not too stupid or ignorant to not know the program is dirty. And what makes it even worse, imo, is that some of the parents and guardians likely knew stuff was a bit questionable.

I hope they get a multi-year penalty. I'd be really surprised if Pitino survives this. Him leaving might be Louisville's only way to avoid the big Hammer.

Count on more serious charges coming in the months ahead.

Kids that probably experienced things similar to what is being punished right now. I bet they didn't know what they were getting in to.
Derrrrr....

I really hope NCAA changes the rules about when teams can self impose postseason bans because this is BS. The reason they are self imposing this season is so it won't hurt them in recruiting so a recruit won't have to look forward to not making postseason their first year, and player attrition for not wanting to miss postseason. The winners in this scenario are the coaches, and the losers are the players and especially the two seniors. I'd like to see the NCAA rule that schools can't self impose postseason bans for the calendar season starting August 1st. These midseason bans only benefit the coaches, who are the one's that are actually committing the violations.

Exactly. Are there some players on this roster who partook in the dirty recruiting tactics? Probably but there are also kids who did not and they are punished for the actions and responsibilities of adults who know better.

I totally agree that this self-imposed in season ban is for the benefit of the coaches and school. It only punishes the players and fans. I am less concerned about the fans but it does punish them as well. Pitino collects his big fat pay check either way.

The NCAA should not permit this action during the season. They should always rule and drop the hammer for future seasons. Upon ruling the players should be free to request a transfer and released from scholarship like the PSU football players during the Sandusky situation. If they elect to stay that's on them but they had the opportunity to choose. That's about as fair to the kids as it gets. The coach and staff should get the hammer.

They were just supporting a family business

LOL............nominated for post of the year. Good one, HawkAttack.

LouAville and their weasel coach have Always been a joke to me. Where classes are optional, unless they are teaching about Porn and how to get Hookers for free.

Yeah, their previous schools (in one case two) paid their expenses for four years and they bug out to a shady school for the fifth. Sorry, no.

In other words, to save the Weasel coaches' job, Spitino chose this route.
Despicable

How in the hell do you know there are kids who didn't partake?
