Are you saying that you have recently seen published draft projects that have Luka being drafted somewhere in the 90's? That would be into the 4th round and guess what, they only have 2 rounds in the draft. They draft 60 players. The last time I looked Luka projects somewhere in the 90's for an October NBA draft.

You mean that if I wait it out that I might have a chance of getting drafted? After asking the question I googled and found 6 mock drafts and I was surprised that Luka wasn't even a second round pick in any of them. The only comment was on the draft that rated Luka the 97th pick and they said that he lacks the mobility that NBA teams want. That is true for now, but don’t be surprised to see the NBA to add additional rounds to their draft at some point, but it is not likely for this year’s draft.
If he wins a national title and POY next year he's probably a lottery pick, possibly number one overall depending on the team. Especially if the videos of him working out translate to the court. If he stays in the draft this year he's probably a free agent signing. It's not his fault. The shutdown has limited access to draft picks and teams. The choice seems obvious. I do wish him the best either way, but really hope he comes back. If his outside and inside game take another step forward, he's the most complete package I've seen for a big man since a young Soviet Arvydis Sabonis.
Yeah, and look at what it's done for you!Being a Legend in Iowa might not mean that much to someone who isn’t likely to reside in Iowa.

This is one of the must uninformed basketball posts we've had on this site in a long, long time.
Lastly, I'll be mildly shocked if Luka makes it to the NBA and is anything more than a 5-10mpg, 40 game end of the bench guy.
That'll teach you to always stick to the main road!If 2020 holds to form, I'm not expecting to see Luka back in Iowa City his Fall.
Latest kick in the nuts. Picked up new car in Chicagoland on Tuesday, proceeded to hit deer near Galena on way home with less than 150 miles on the new car![]()
I'm convinced most of the people commenting about his future NBA stardom (or there abouts) haven't watched more than highlights of an NBA game in the last 25 years or so.
I love Luka and hope he is successful, has a great NBA career and proves everyone (yes, including me) wrong. I can also say, that if a pro career is looking likely, be it overseas, G-League, NBA whatever, if I were Luka I would jump on it. Lastly, I'll be mildly shocked if Luka makes it to the NBA and is anything more than a 5-10mpg, 40 game end of the bench guy.
Admittedly, I don't watch the NBA, but if the choice for me was toiling anonymously in the NBA, playing to small crowds in the G League or returning to college where you just dominate on the court and are loved by your fanbase and universally praised by both local and national media, the choice would be easy for me. You can purchase insurance policies to protect you in case you get injured and you get to play with your friends and for a coach you like. The future will still be there next year.
Luka made some comments last week about being pretty upset about the racism issues being brought up about the football team, and he wasn't too happy that this could be going on. Its possible, Unfortunately, that this could be the straw that breaks the camels back on whether or not he returns. Just one more brick on the wrong side of the scales.....Being a Legend in Iowa might not mean that much to someone who isn’t likely to reside in Iowa.
That's a Dubuque driver for ya.If 2020 holds to form, I'm not expecting to see Luka back in Iowa City his Fall.

Chad who?
If he comes back, I’ll go to the closest casino and drop some $$$ on Iowa to win the B1G and the National title.
Probably should do that soon. Once he announces he is for sure back in Iowa City this year, the value in that bet will go down... way down! I hope it does!If he comes back, I’ll go to the closest casino and drop some $$$ on Iowa to win the B1G and the National title.

I watch a lot of nba and say the same. Also add the guards carry the ball a lot when defended tightIt's an Iowa thing, possibly the entire midwest. Go to a bar in Des Moines & try talking NBA with some people. You'll get the same outdated cliches & it's clear none of these people watch the Association.
"It's all one-on-one. They're selfish. They don't play defense. They don't try. They all travel."
The people with these uninformed opinions are the loudest too. I think to myself, "if you're so stupid on this subject, how dumb are you on other subjects?"
I watched Luka go around Oturu, Wesson, Tillman, really all of them on offence. And on defence he was often playing not to foul and still had better stats. I watched Winston try going around him on the three point line and end up passing the ball. Not say'in he has great footspeed, but his footwork makes up for alot. The only thing he doesn't have is explosive jumping ability. I still think he has a solid NBA career ahead of him, if he gets the chance. Are you saying that you have recently seen published draft projects that have Luka being drafted somewhere in the 90's? Edit: I just looked at 6 NBA mock drafts and Luka was only mentioned in one of them. And, in that mock draft they included other possible names and one of the those names was Luka Garza who they had rated 97th. They said that Luka lacked the mobility that NBA teams look for. No other mock draft had Luka as a 1st or 2nd rd. pick. However, Daniel Oturu, Jalen Smith, Cassius Winston, and X. Tillman, all were in most of the Mock drafts and all had some first round projections. Kaleb Wesson, Lamar Stevens and Ayo Dosunmu each appeared in one mock draft as 2nd rounders. Wesson and Stevens were each the projected 60th pick in their mock drafts. Based on those mock drafts, I would expect Luka back and would welcome him with open arms.

Nope.
Just moved to Anamosa a couple years ago from coralville.
Didn’t know you could access HR in prison.
Iowa kicked Kansas's ass in Hawaii that season if I recall too.
And you went to/from Chicago via Dubuque? Why in God's name would you do that! It's longer and the chances of hitting a deer are far greater!Nope.

Well, sorry about the deer, anyway.Schaumburg to Anamosa. It was the quickest route.

Took it to Des Moines today for collision repairs. Wasn't going back that way.... PTSD
Anyone know if all the players showed up? Maybe the freshmen don't have a place to stay yet as dorms are likely still closed?
I've been shocked before, but I would be shocked if Luka turns his back on his Hawkeye teammates for a problematic NBA opportunity that would be even better next year.
When I left for vacation last week Ogundele was having trouble getting back to the states and was not expected to arrive on time...not sure if they have gotten that rectified and am not sure what the quarantine rules would be for him when he does make it back.
