Jordan wants head of judiciary so he can lead all the Biden investigations.
I think McCarthy still gets the spot, but at a cost that leaves him mostly powerless in the next Congress.
Everything will have to be approved by the extreme Right. And that's a disaster for Republicans in 2024.

I really wonder what deal he cut with them. His reign as speaker is going to be pretty short if one person can call for a vote on speaker.

I read something that he is allowing some of the nuts on the rules committee and they will be able to pick 1/3 bills to go to a floor vote with McCarthy picking the other 2. He’s giving up a lot if that’s true…
Well he was a leader in name only from the beginning. Nothing has really changed. My guess the first legislative battle that he loses and he's gone.
He definitely won't have the clout of Pelosi, who might go down in history as the most powerful Speaker in Merican history.
Good chance McCarthy doesn't even make it to 2024 as Majority Leader.
