I just checked back in, did they really nominate Trump??
Did either MTG or Boebert nominate him 5 or 6 rounds ago?Of course Gaetz did.
Wouldn’t surprise me. MTG has been reliably for McCarthy though.Did either MTG or Boebert nominate him 5 or 6 rounds ago?

^^^ THIS ^^^Yes. People keep saying that "Reagan wasn't conservative enough to be elected Republican today." That is true to a point, but misses the fact that Reagan's catchphrase philosophy - "government doesn't solve problems, government is IS the problem" - has been the core element and key to just about every republican campaign of the last 40 years and is exactly why we see current MAGA republicans' working to destroy our entire system of governance.
So many of them are juvenile assholes.
Don't underestimate the idiocy of their base. There's no way any Republican can paint this process other than a colossal failure.
They has almost 2 months to get this shit lined up...and here we are.
Bumbling idiots.
The fact their talking point is “this is how democracy is supposed to work” is so precious 😂.There's no way any Republican can paint this process other than a colossal failure.

Is Jon Lovitz still around for a guest appearance on SNL to play Santos, the pathological liar?
I think it’s possible that in this period following 1/6/21, many traditional conservatives that are willing to take part in these polls are not willing to identify as republicans. As a result, the crazies end up making a greater percentage of the voters identifying themselves as republicans in these polls.Thats a fair counter point. I think McCarthy and crew felt they had it all under control even after that. Now, they are seeing maybe not so much....
I do agree, if a person shrugs off Jan 6, they are NOT in the middle.
edit - maybe I need to reevaluate MY definition of "moderate" "and middle".......
66% of Republicans don't consider the January 6 Capitol riot to be an attack on the government, according to a new poll
77% of Republicans also said that former President Donald Trump bears little to no responsibility for the attack, according to a Quinnipiac poll.www.businessinsider.com

Sounds like Dems just got the concession they needed to compromise.
She's a freak dude

Can we get this in a legally enforceable document please? If so, I'm calling every damn Democrat I know.
Big talk from a little man.

Is there anything else McCarthy can give the radicals that he already hasn't promised?
Serious question.
I read this am - and it may have been posted here - that he was now allowing a single member to be alloowed to call for a vote on his position as speaker. We have to know what he's sacrificed up to now. Sounds like they already have the gavel.
Which will happen every day if he wins.I read this am - and it may have been posted here - that he was now allowing a single member to be alloowed to call for a vote on his position as speaker.
It's happening, Gaetz is in the process of nominating Trump.
