Maine Removes Trump From Ballot

Which words on page 5 are a political stunt? I don't think we read the same document.
Sorry not page 5, the last page.

Given the compressed timeframe, the novel constitutional questions involved, the importance of this case, and impending ballot preparation deadlines, I will suspend the effect of my decision until the Superior Court rules on any appeal, or the time to appeal under 21-A, Section 337 has expired. Cf In re Maine Clean Fuels, Inc., 310 A.2d 736, 744 (Me. 1973) (noting administrative agencies are free to fashion their own rules of procedure). Dated: December 28, 2023 Shenna Bellows Secretary of State NOTICE OF APPEAL RIGHTS The challenger or candidate may appeal this decision by commencing an action in the Superior Court within 5 days of this date, pursuant to 21-A MRSA section 337, subsection 2, paragraph D.

How is that a stunt?

What does any of that have to do with whether the Maine Attorney general should be tossing him from the ballot?

Those are great reasons for not voting for the guy though.
What he did in denying results, trying to get alternative electors, pressuring several states to find ballots, inciting the idiots he called to town to stop the certification or they will lose their country. Now im not a lawyer so I’ll let the courts sort out if this falls within what’s allowed, but the biggest question is with all we know about Trump, what he’s done, who he is and the crap he continues to say and says he will do if elected… why do so many so called conservatives support him and even want him on a ballot? Why is this the run away conservative leader? Why do so many conservatives, like you, constantly defend the stuff he does? Reagan was the standard… he’s rolled over in his grave at this point. In fact, he’d be considered a liberal these days.

Weird. It's a factual take.

What you take from it is up to you.

Trump needs to be beaten at the ballot box. These measures that probably get tossed aren't the way to go IMO.

The polls show trump up 2% on Biden as he has been for a few months as I recall, so if trump is elected, then you have your dictator in office, and all of his appointees will do his bidding on everything he wants. Other than that, I suppose waiting for ballot box results would be ok. lol

Have any examples of that?

I already supplied the reasoning. Biden has a constitutional obligation to protect all US citizens from invasion. He's failed and violated his oath of office. This is actually a stronger legal theory then pointing to the 14th ammendment which specifically does not list the president of the United States in it even.

Also, they're moving to impeach this broad now. Would be hilarious if she gets impeached and scotus inevitably strikes this down anyways.

I bet you were ok when trump had a couple russians in the Oval office and shared some classified docs with them.

They continue to block military aid to Ukraine. Even when a majority are smart enough not to say the quiet parts outloud, their actions show their true colors.

And some of them like MTG are dumb enough to just say it.
That’s your proof that they are cheering for Russia? Hell, by that idiocy, why aren’t you claiming they’re cheering for Hamas/Iran?

He can declassified anything he wants at any time. His prerogative entirely. You're obviously okay with biden's dereliction of duty and have no counter obviously so you're defaulting to the usual leftist shrieking of "BUT TRUMP!!!". Cultist

Trump is a liar, adulterer, failed businessman, narcissist, non-religious, twice divorced, porn star paying, military disparager, poor people hating, authoritarian lover, etc., etc., etc. He accomplished little beyond tax cuts and SCOTUS noms which any other republican would have done. Outside of that he caused chaos, broke laws, golfed, made fun of those who he didn’t like and constantly played the role of victim which is a big sign of weakness. Yet, a majority of conservatives rally around him and support him still. I just don’t get it. Why would anyone who really is conservative support him?
It's a cult.

No he did not declassify those documents. Yes, he can declassify docs, but there is a process and that was never done. trump has a history of taking classified documents and failing to return them. He's up to his neck on felony charges you know. I will agree with your TRUMP!!!". Cultist.

You tell me what evidence you have that Republicans are cheering for Russia.
You mean specifically with the Ukraine war or in general? If you're talking in general...

I find it baffling to see you guys continue to coddle and enable Trump. He staged a coup. FAFO.
When he decides that he can run for another term in 2028 are you going to still be on HORT posting that the people should be able to decide for themselves, and it's a Lib ploy to keep him off the ballot just because he legally cannot run again?

Well, if we're being honest.

When a all D appointed supreme court in Colorado and D Attorney General in Maine toss him from the ballot....it's understandable it might look that way to folks.

If and when the SC tosses the Colorado decision I'm pretty sure the 6-3 R majority will be brought up ad nauseum.
And why would that be? Cons stole seats. That overturned Roe. We’re going to be pissed about that for decades.

Someone who instigates a violent riot that was meant to overturn our election and which caused deaths, should be in prison nor should they be allowed to run for political office ever again. It's as simple as that. The only reason Trump isn't in prison is because he's a former POTUS and is getting the ultimate perk of the law not applying to him.

I agree here because I know the Republicans will create reasons to kick democrats off ballots going forward…because vindictive. This current House and their obsession with Hunter prove this point.

The only way I even thought of that reply is that previous posts on THIS BOARD by many others who know him have provided a lot of info about his issues.
Combined with his off the wall positions and posts and I’m not the only one who could have made that remark or one similar to it.
Why don’t you resolve to put me on “ignore in ‘24” and we’ll both be just fine??? 🤫
So your gut reaction was to throw another person’s mistake in their face. Yes you are clearly above all that garbage.

That already happened and it didn't work. Everyone of his cult followers thinks the election was rigged. What makes you think it will work a second time?

Disclaimer: I actually agree with you in premise and want to see him simply beaten. However, people, en masse, are dumb.

He was beaten badly in 2020, he staged a coup, and for 3 years has been lying about what happened. People keep arguing that we need to play by the rules of the Marquess of Queensbury, while Trump is fighting like the mobster he is.
