I like where your heads at!I think, like last season, if the Hawks make the BTT final their seed will be set and won't change if they win or lose. So.....if they make it to Sunday they will likely be a 6 no matter the outcome.

Consensus is that Iowa is sitting on the 8 line, coming off an extremely ugly loss. A win against Ohio State is not going to improve that. They need to beat a tournament team currently sitting higher (I.e. Michigan State) to move up to a 7. We also need to hope against IL, MD or NW making a run and also making a case for a better seed.I think one win all but assures a 7. Two wins is a guarantee. Not that I know what I’m talking about.
Add Mizzou and Texas A&M to the list of teams that we're cheering against.Consensus is that Iowa is sitting on the 8 line, coming off an extremely ugly loss. so they will lose to the lowest 1 seed in the round of 32 if they survive round 1?As of this morning, March 9, NINE B1G Teams are projected by ESPN to make the Big Dance.
Iowa is projected as a 7 seed in the East Region (New York) and would face #10 seed Boise State with the winner facing #2 Baylor/#15 Montana State in Denver.
Wisconsin is the 4th team OUT. Michigan is the 5th team OUT.
The 9 B1G Teams:
2 Purdue
4 Indiana
7 Michigan State
7 IOWA
7 Northwestern
8 Maryland
8 Illinois
11 Penn State (LAST 4 in)
11 Rutgers (Last 4 in) @MrsScrew

No one expected much from Illinois this year. But the Illini could have a shot at a No. 1 seed.www.espn.com

hopefully we play ourselves off of the 8/9 lineso they will lose to the lowest 1 seed in the round of 32 if they survive round 1?
Here's what one very good bracketologist, Rocco Miller, wrote today:
"Kansas fans probably don’t like seeing Iowa here in Des Moines, but Iowa’s campus is plenty far enough (above 75 Miles, which is the rule) to make it a reality."
Iowa is lucky to be in the NCAA tournament— no need to bitch about their seed. It will be an upset if this Iowa team plays more than one additional game.I think, like last season, if the Hawks make the BTT final their seed will be set and won't change if they win or lose. So.....if they make it to Sunday they will likely be a 6 no matter the outcome.
I have some bad news for you...hopefully we play ourselves off of the 8/9 line
Doesn't look like a tourney run would have helped us.As of this morning, March 9, NINE B1G Teams are projected by ESPN to make the Big Dance.

Iowa as an 8 seed in DSM is about as good as it would get, assuming they were to win the first round and face Kansas in the 2nd. Do not want to face Bama.
This team is about the most unlikely team to make a sweet 16. Now watch them make the elite 8.Why not?,.. obtaining seemingly inferior opponents doesn't seem to work very well,.. Let's play Alabama.
Agreed.Iowa as an 8 seed in DSM is about as good as it would get, assuming they were to win the first round and face Kansas in the 2nd. Do not want to face Bama.
Which would reaffirm the point that NCAA tournament is a complete crapshoot. This team is about the most unlikely team to make a sweet 16. Now watch them make the elite 8.

would we have needed to win yesterday and today to hang on to a 7 seed?
Probably, which was absolutely within our grasp. Oh well I got some time back this weekend. I don't watch after Iowa loses, because I'm a grumpy old man. 😉
Also, these Bracketology "experts" are all wrong. We will be a #10 seed who gets to face a #15 seed in the second round!

yeah, I am sure Michigan State is happy to see Ohio State today and not us
I will only look at scores from the BTT; I won't be watching either
i don't think we suck enough to drop to a 10 seed
It's not.Which would reaffirm the point that NCAA tournament is a complete crapshoot.
I have some bad news for you...
In what fantasyland does that happen?!? There is zero percent chance iowa plays in Des Moines.I have some good news for ya.
Iowa State & Kansas play tonight in Kansas City. Kansas is only a 4.5 point favorite.
I like #8 seed Iowa's chances vs #1 seed Kansas in Des Moines.
I’m right there with you. Unfortunately this team has “earned” the 8/9 line and doesn’t deserve to be gifted a 10 seed.I hate the 8/9 to the point where I MIGHT want the 10 seed. We are just never going to beat a #1 seed, and I realize I am getting ahead of myself given we would need to win round one first, but its painful we could not win one game out of: (EIU/Nebby Road/Nebby Home/OSU in BTT). We were on the cusp of possible a 6 with 7 at worst. Ugh.
Agree. There is NO WAY the committee puts Iowa in Des Moines. Not happening. In what fantasyland does that happen?!? There is zero percent chance iowa plays in Des Moines.
