I had a labrum repair in late November. Was throwing a baseball in april-ish. Of course I was 42 and didn't have access to the trainers he will have.
Were you able to throw as hard as you wanted to or did you have to ease your way into it?

That's what worries me. In june, he might still be easing into it and then there is just a couple of months until the season openereased into it.
Good medical recap, thanks for posting Franny. Given his age and in amazing hands at UIHC, we should all feel pretty confident that MG will be good to go for summer workouts -- Sully is a great insurance policy if we need him and heck, look at the strides that kid made w/out spring ball.
Crazy that Miami wanted him but then backed off due to shoulder surgery but then they grab Beck for $3 mil a year needing elbow surgery? Nuts...
I'm very athletic. At 42 I tore my labrum on my throwing arm. Never quite the same again. Took 8 years to sort of through like I used to do. Obviously he is young. Were you able to throw as hard as you wanted to or did you have to ease your way into it?

I'm more concerned about his stats against Iowa to be frank.
Here's how this plays out:I just hope June doesn't slip into August. Or we may be watching the highest paid clipboard holder next fall. Gulp.
Here's how this plays out:
Gronowski starts first game but appears either "rusty" or simply "off." Definitely not the SDSU version.
Super fans preach the need for patience b/c "he didn't have spring" and/or "He's still learning Lester's system."
6-7 games in when we have lost a game or two and have nothing of significance to play for, the interest level in playing Hank Brown or others finally kicks in. Too late.
Another year for us as Iowa Fans. Maybe we can portal an injured QB in '26 to make it three in a row!? A trifecta?? That'd be an accomplishment.
Silly question since nobody can answer that with any degree of certainty and anyone who says they can is most certainly full of shit.I hope he starts game 1.......but will he be 100%?
Will he have his arm strength and accuracy back?
Well we’re on page 12 so a lot of people think they can!Silly question since nobody can answer that with any degree of certainty and anyone who says they can is most certainly full of shit.
Right. Like I said...Well we’re on page 12 so a lot of people think they can!
When SDSU played Iowa https://www.espn.com/college-football/game/_/gameId/401405062/s-dakota-st-iowaThe "never quite the same again" is concerning....
curious what you mean by "his stats against Iowa"
Or retroactive 5th year? I can’t keep up anymore. 🤷🏻♂️If he is injured can he get a medical red shirt?
Silly question since nobody can answer that with any degree of certainty and anyone who says they can is most certainly full of shit.
He’s throwing in this piece.![]()

You really think Kirk will be slinging it against Albany, 10 passes will be hard to tell on the injury front if arm is goodSorry if I poorly worded that post.
All I am saying is, IF he starts game 1, we all will be watching to see if he has his arm strength and accuracy back.

I doubt it plays out like thatHere's how this plays out:

They did do they homework. Freaking chillHow do you not do your homework on this? So he’s missing the entire Spring (huge) and then half the Summer. Oh, and he’s never played in this offense. Just absolutely unbelievable I hope we gave him at least a million to maybe never be healthy.

I'm going out on a limb here a suggest that they did the same thing with Cade and made the same claim. No confidence from me.I agree. Kirk made it clear that they (including UI doctors & SWARM) looked at his condition and were still comfortable signing him and paying him 7 figures in "NIL."

Thank you for the info, Doctor.Like most surgeries, it has to go through the natural healing process, with inflammation and soreness, and building back range of motion and strength. Probably be touch and go to see if he has his strength back by August.
I still thing a lot of Cades issues were "between the ears". I think he struggled to come back mentally from the injuries. I also think the quad injury led to him favoring the leg, and may have led to the ACL tear. I'm also not sure he ever had the arm talent that MG has. He managed the games for a great Michigan team, but they didn't seem all that upset about him leaving either. I have no idea how this will work out for MG, but I think its jumping to conclusions that because the Cade deal went totally south, that this one will as well.I'm going out on a limb here a suggest that they did the same thing with Cade and made the same claim. No confidence from me.
Iowa is the best "fit" for you to win an FBS national championship? Geezus....what a moron. This kid won't do shit for Iowa. Why can't we get a real QB?Good find.
A couple notes from the article:
(1) Iowa is guaranteeing him more than 7 figures.
(2) “I won a national championship in FCS, and I have an opportunity to win a national championship in FBS and be one of the first players to ever do that. I think there’s a lot of different factors that went into the process that I had to go over, and Iowa was the best fit for that. It’s going to be really exciting to play in front of 70 thousand at Kinnick Stadium, and playing Big Ten Football.”

I'm saying that they very may have. They have already done it twice that is common knowledge - Cade and Kayden. So, you're saying the donors threw away over a million bucks on this guy?![]()
