I've heard the optimism before and how great the other one was going to be and worth waiting for. I will not get my hopes up again. I think Sully is the starter until beaten out.

All I said was that it was a smoke and mirrors 10 win season. A Cooper DeJean led defense and Tory Taylor & Cooper DeJean led special teams units obviously were very good & helped Iowa achieve those 10 wins. They were the smoke that made up for the awful offense.
But when we played legitimate teams we got crushed.

I’d say the fear we lost this kid in the portal process was palpable. Now that we have him we’re divided on the expected outcome. Hilarious! Lester is attracting more than we have and continues to overcome years of mismanagement. To think he can get the best of the best this soon is ridiculous. Progress! But our defense has always been bend, but do not break. Well after a while, you keep bending you are going to snap in half. If we had an offense that kept them off the field more, scored some points, who know what would happen. Not saying we would have won the games but been more competitive.
I always wonder if All had not fumbled on the opening drive and we scored, would that make a difference in the Penn ST game. Probably not, but who knows.
