Man we are going to regret the @ Rutgers loss
Fine, probably a bad loss by us and or one we needed on the road, yep. That overturned call of Joe T hoop before half was egregious before I get into the Murray "foul" at end.
In general, it’s probably better for SOS if teams we play twice (Maryland) beat teams we only play once (Rutgers).
Rutgers also beat Purdue earlier
Rutgers and knee-clencher Pickle have chosen Iowa as their hat-hanging win for the season, much like Northwestern and Purdue have in football................
In the esteemed words of Kirk Ferentz, "that's football," or in this case, basketball. As you pointed out, Rutgers also beat Purdue at home. Their style of play makes them a tricky matchup if they are allowed to clutch/grab all game. It's why they are generally terrible on the road. All teams struggle on the road, but they have almost no shot on the road given how they play.
Somebody else beat me to it, but let me say it again: RUTGERS BEAT PURDUE. Let that sink in a minute. Say it with me: RUTGERS BEAT PURDUE.
And remember: Forrest Gump is right. When it comes to college basketball, ya never know what you're gonna get.
So Iowa can beat Purdue tomorrow night, and I think they will. Then we can all say, "Iowa beat Purdue" and few will remember Iowa lost a controversial finish @ Rutgers.
World beaters? They only scored 48 points against what most would agree is at best a very pedestrian defense.
Poor choice of words but you get what I meant. They looked terrible last night.
I also think Maryland is very talented and was underachieving. Rutgers is normally tough at the RAC, where officials seem to "let them play".
I don't think RU resembled anything even close to a world beater against the Hawks. They just found a team that could shoot worse than they did.
Just demonstrates that if the refs show that they aren't going to allow the muggings Rutgers gave us and makes them play basketball, they are pretenders at best. That never happened in our game.

Rutgers just isn’t very talented. Nice home court advantage but they would probably be a bottom 3-4 team in terms of overall talent. I know they play really hard but they just aren’t that good. Maryland has way more talent. We shoot just decently we win That game.
Yep this is it.
Iowa is a particularly susceptible to teams that play physical defense.
