Matt Campbell to....

A couple of people have made an interesting point along those lines.....Campbell isn't likely to take a job (Nebraska) that would essentially take him out of the running for the tOSU job, were it to become open.

Nebraska would in no way take you out of the running for OSU.

If you did a poor job there it would but OSU can poach just about anybody outside Saban or Harbaugh.

I think they ride with Riley another year if

It is going to take more than 3 years- ask Jim Harbaugh how year 3 went. Nebraska is in worse shape than the Michigan team that Harbaugh inherited. First off, Lincoln is no Ann Arbor.

Nebraska is no Michigan.

Perhaps he's referring to a head coach going from one B1G school to another, which is extremely rare (unlike the Pac-12 and SEC). If I'm not mistaken, you have to go back to Gary Moeller, and in that case he went from Illinois HC to a Michigan asst for 10 years before taking the Michigan HC job.

I tend to agree with you, though, that when UM retires, OSU will get their man, no matter who he is or where he is currently employed at the time.

I think hes going to stay at ISU but he would be a great pick for Nebraska. Their defense is solid, looks like he develops players, and he can coach.
He can coach? If that were true, he'd have overruled his OC and ran the ball instead of passing on their last drive. KSU doesn't win that game without those last two time outs.

Year 2 and he got a crappy team to 7 wins. He also coached against Oklahoma and TCU

A lot of that depends what kind of schedule is given to you next years is brutal and will be the toughest with out question in the West and getting the right QB that's around for more than a year.

Michigan has not had a top notch QB yet with Harbaugh and I'm not throwing Rudock order your bus.

Also... why would Tennessee get Schiano?! that is so awesome to see their meltdown

Because what Tennessee fans believe about how good their job isn't what prospective coaches apparently believe.

Tennessee ain't the only fan base that's gonna be pissed off. All these fan bases think their job is awesome, when the simple truth is what matters most is what coaches think about those jobs.

If I'm a Nebraska fan...the whole CFB world knows, your eggs are in one basket. There is no other basket.

My gawd, if Frost stays put, or worse yet goes somewhere else. You think Tennessee's fans are angry...

Yes. That is to what I was referring.

The fear that Nebraska may actually get a coach that will, at a minimum, get them back to 9-10 win seasons is palpable on this board.
I sense the fear in every, “if I was Frost I’d definitely take the Florida job.” Iowa has two wins in 40 years over Nebraska to coaches not named Riley and going back to that routine is frightening Iowa fan.

What a dumb comment "two wins in 40 years to a coach not named Riley". Well Nebraska only has three wins over Iowa in 40 years to a coach not named Ferentz... I can spin that too. The reality is Nebraska has a 8-5 record over Iowa starting around 1980 after that long break after the WWII era (good for you!), and perhaps more relevant, has a losing 3-4 record since joining the Big 10 and playing on a regular basis. But sure, Iowa fans are shaking in our boots about this savior coach Nebraska is about to hire.

It is surprising that the increased compensation didn't include an increase buyout. Those usually go hand-in-hand. ISU would certainly want an increased buyout. Campbell must've have negotiated to avoid one.

$9M this year, $7M next year.

It's obvious you are doing TOE math and cant comprehend simple sentences... "...buyout is equal to the remaining value of his contract."
To explain in simple teams, starting today his buyout is 22.5M. Next year it will be 3.5 less.... And so on. Good luck.
