I could be wrong, but that’s when Mazda was using Ford’s parts bin. That relationship dissolved fully by 2014, and Mazda has improved/benefitted greatly. Will never buy a Mazda again. 2004 Mazda 6- Transmission when bad at 62K miles.

What’s the worst part of driving a Mazda? Telling your parents you’re gay.
IM HERE ALL NIGHT FOLKS
Okay, Vivek.Americans are lazy subtards from what I have heard.
When car shopping last year, I was seriously looking at a Subaru but I was told everyone would think I was a lesbian.
Mildly interesting fact. The founder of Rivian is from my area and the name is derived from the Indian River which flows through our county.I absolutely love driving my Rivian R1S. It is incredibly nimble, comfortable, and fast. 0-60 in under 3 seconds. I so prefer to drive I than an other vehicle I have ever owned. Believe it buddy!
And you still haven’t answered the question. Your evasive “answer” tells me all I need to know. Happily sticking with my internal combustion engines.10 seconds of my time to get the car refueled.
That you asked this question demonstrates how little you know.
It’s not about being poor. It’s about not wanting to spend automobile caliber money on a glorified golf cart.T’s and P’s on being a poor.
I did. Your myopia prevents you from understanding. And you still haven’t answered the question. Your evasive “answer” tells me all I need to know. Happily sticking with my internal combustion engines.
My guess is you've never driven an electric golf cart, let alone an EV.It’s not about being poor. It’s about not wanting to spend automobile caliber money on a glorified golf cart.
Will add “stupid” to the list as well with this super hot take. 😂It’s not about being poor. It’s about not wanting to spend automobile caliber money on a glorified golf cart.
If you like your electric car, knock yourself out. But keep that overpriced shit away from me.Will add “stupid” to the list as well with this super hot take. 😂
There are EVs outside the Tesla family, if not trusting Elon is the problem. The Mrs drives an Audi EV and loves it.No, everything else is not superior. It's a lot heavier, requires special (read: expensive) tires that wear out faster than tires on an ICE vehicle has, I hate the interior of the Teslas, and frankly, I don't trust Elon.
Can you elaborate?I'm driving a brand new 2025 CX5 Carbon edition. Had I test driven it longer and really understood how it was going to behave I woulda shopped around more. Oh well live and learn maybe I'll try a CRV next.
Wouldn’t you love to stick it to the Saudis and Russians and Big Oil?It’s not about being poor. It’s about not wanting to spend automobile caliber money on a glorified golf cart.
Oh do tell me why you say this.. I can't wait for the answerI would say that an overweight vehicle that can go from 0-60 in less than two seconds is inherently unsafe for everybody else on the road.
sometimes it's not a very smooth ride. Kind of a jerky transmission I think? For instance everytime i let off my accelerator and not brake I expect to coast. Well at times as soon as my foot is off the gas completely there will be a sudden deceleration jerk. tap the gas to go faster and slight acceleration lurch. it'll just feel sluggish. It doesnt happen most of the time and i can go whole drives without it happening. tends to manifest itself getting behind slower vehicles in residential areas. Tried reddit forums, tried getting it looked at by dealership but I couldn't replicate it that day and nothing they could see wrong. IDK if it's just me or what, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Everyone else on the forums seems to love how it drives. Can you elaborate?
Dude, you've never driven one. ICEs only beat EV in driving range. At least the 3 EVs I've driven. Those suckers are fast off the line.I refuse to believe that anybody would prefer to drive an EV over a gas-burning automobile based on the driveability and performance of the vehicle. They're heavy, uncomfortable pieces of shit. And I'm saying that as somebody that drives a 4,400 lb 2 door car
Of course you do. And of course, once again, you are wrong.I blame it on the unions.

Still trying to figure it all out

I did’t find that fact to be in the least bit interesting.Mildly interesting fact. The founder of Rivian is from my area and the name is derived from the Indian River which flows through our county.

Then he should have led with CSB time. I DONT MAKE THE RULES, I JUST LIVE BY THEM.C'mon... it's a CSB.
Absolutely not, because that would mean sticking it to a multitude of small businesses in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and other parts of the Gulf Coast.Wouldn’t you love to stick it to the Saudis and Russians and Big Oil?

Not sure I understand OP's point. Toyota EV sales alone in 2024 (1 million) were more than double Mazda's total sales.Sales for Mazda North American Operations rose 17% last year boosting the company to a new record for the number of vehicles sold.
A total of 424,382 vehicles were sold in 2024 compared with 363,354 the previous year, the company said Friday.
I thought it was interesting.

Maybe the most amusing is how much OP has become a fan boy of the company now that he purchased one. Very reminiscent of another fan boy on this site.
Why is that relevant? Their market share is still very small? Why the mention of EVs?Mazda isn't Toyota. The point is that Mazda sold many more cars last year than in any year in their history.

Mrs. Tradition (no pics) is on her second Mazda and I used to drive a Tribute back in the day. We're not new to the Mazda family.
How many Mazda posts did you make before your 50 vs after?
Well, I traded in my Tribute in 2008 so I don't remember if I posted much about that car (it was meh).
Not sure if I ever posted anything about the wife's cars either.
Her Mazda6 is a sweet ride, though.
