MBB: Big Ten announces game times, TV information

BIG TEN, IOWA ANNOUNCE GAME TIMES, TV INFORMATION

IOWA CITY, Iowa --The University of Iowa, in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference, announced game times and television information for the 2017-18 men’s basketball season.

Iowa will be televised on an ESPN platform eight times, BTN 14 times, FS1 twice, and streamed on BTN Plus on BTN2GO six times. Television information for the Cayman Islands Classic will be announced at a later date.

That Northern Illinois game on BTN Plus really irks me. We are almost halfway through the season at that point and they can't find a BTN alternative channel to put that on?

Wow, they're on ESPN or ESPN2 6 times... 5 of the 6 in Iowa City.

This year the early season schedule is very good with B10 games in December. I can't wait for this season to start!

Might want to look into your internet connection. We're on this platform approx six times per year and have had no issues the past couple years.

There are no BTN alternate channels for basketball games. They only get the alternate channels for football games. Hoops games (especially non-conference ones) don't draw the revenue to reserve satellite space for alternate channels.

Having to resort to BTN Plus probably has to do with too many teams in the Big 10 conference.

The schedule makers must have heard your pleas last year as the Hawks have

3 Saturday conference games at home and 3 on the road

1 Saturday non conference game (Drake) in D M

1 Sunday conference game at home and 1 on the road

2 Sunday non conference games at home

Connection is good bigten plus is the only issue I've had with streaming. We have a lot of devices no problems other than BIG Plus

Only frustration is that there hasn't been more initiative to developed a BTN2Go app for more smart platforms.

Ya know......I start at the beginning and work my way through this schedule.....and I feel like we can compete with every team on that schedule...I feel that way with great confidence. I'm not here predicting we will go undefeated through the whole schedule or anything of that nature. I just have a real feeling that this team can play with and compete with anybody, including MSU at home.

What brought this feeling on was looking at the discussion about Northern Illinois and the lack of TV coverage. Let's say that, by that point in time, we have only one loss or maybe no losses. Again not predicting it, but looking at the schedule it is possible. That game would likely get picked up for TV if we are 13-1 or 14-0 at that point?

The one on the Roku works good, only complaint is you get the btn plus broadcast quality...

I guess money is the name of the game - fans don't count.
