Looks like he is playing from the Pelini playbook.

I doubt this will end the way Alex expects. I think you will see an apology before too long.

Who is Alexander Lewis and why are they blaming him for the loss?

Miami kicked Nebraskas ass but as I pointed out yesterday.

Miami kicking Debbies ass 33-10
Miami starts playing like crap and stupid and make decisions that baffle the mind.
Nebraska ties it up.
Game goes to OT.
Miami ends it quickly and wins by 3

Spread was 5 points.

HMMMMM, if it wasn't Miami I wouldn't have even thought about it.

For those of you who did not see the Nebraska game, Alex Lewis was the player with the late hit on the Armstrong interception and gave Miami the winning setup field goal in OT.

Well then yeah you were a major factor ya DB.. Take some accountability! Could be a dumpster fire in Lincoln

It has nothing to do with accepting accountability. It has to do with the hate spewed by the corn huckers living in the 80s and 90s.

Well, if you're a team captain and you commit a crucial personal foul when your team has battled back from a 23 point deficit to make it to overtime, I'm guessing you're going to catch heat from the fans no matter what state you're in.

Leadership taken straight from the Bo Pelini playbook.

It's a rocky start for Nebbie, but long term they'll be better both on and off the field with a class act like Mike Riley at the helm. I just can't hate the Huskers now that Pelini and Kaz are gone--not when Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Pat Fitzgerald are all so much more deserving of our wrath (not to mention Purdue...grrr).

Probably a little of both.. You should expect to take some heat though after a bone headed penalty in that situation!

He is a kid still and fans/posters need to realize that....that holds true on these boards too......the players want to win the game as much or more than even the most passionate fan...

Definitely, one of the things I hate about the Social Media. These kids, should not have to be subjected to all the criticism from drunk message board/twitter fans. Also, it really shows the over-reaction of fans, after a loss. The players are spending countless hours of practice and don't deserve being called out.

Husker friend of mine (I know, he shouldn't be my friend) said he played at Colorado, was kicked off the team, arrested, was given a second chance at Nebraska and has been a part of several bone-headed fouls like that one this year.

Nebraska is the best 1-2 team in the nation, go over to their board and ask them. They don't play weak teams like Pitt, Colorado State, Iowa State, etc...

BYU & Miami would beat everybody in the west division, just go over to their board and ask. They will tell you.

In their defense... BYU and Miami are no pushovers, but you would probably be better off just staying away from that freakshow. Those people live in their own world where it's still 1995.

All the Husker fans I know have accepted mediocrity. They don't expect to dominate like in the the mid 90s. They just want to at least compete for division titles and be somewhat relevant again. Maybe I just know the few sane ones.

The Ghost of Tom Osborne haunts the Nebraska teams
of the 21st century. He was the gold standard and nobody
will ever match his record. Husker football will be on the
down cycle as far as national headlines. Riley will be an
interim coach due to his age.

He basically said go to hell Nebraska fans for blaming me for the loss. They have always hated him after his arrest saying he wasn't Nebraska worthy. Saying he wont play for that state ever again and they will bow at his feet some day.

It's a good reason why coaches want players to stay off social media.

But WTF is Nebraska Worthy? After an arrest it was pretty common to cover it up, destroy evidence and intimidate witnesses to keep players on the field. Not sure what that comment was about.

Yeah, it was Alex's fault Armstrong threw the interception directly to the guy in orange. Even without the foul that's basically a chipshot fg and the game is over.

But please, Gary Bartman this kid because he did something dumb after the game was already basically decided.

What do hockey and the Cubs have to do with this situation?

Pretty relevant and bad penalty since the kick was only good by a foot or two. These things happen. All would be forgiven and forgotten, for the most part, after the next game.

Except when you go full Re**** on Twitter.

I don't know if we're the best 1-2 team in the country but I think we're ok. I like our team outside of a few weak spots that are razor thin (lb, de, te).
What really makes me laugh is the people blaming Armstrong for the loss. If it weren't for him we would of lost by 30+. The kid is really playing well and has benefitted from some good coaching. I think we improve a lot as the season goes along and by the time the season is ending we could be playing some really good ball. I don't know about winning the division but I still think we have as good of chance as Iowa, Wisconsin, NW, or Minn. Just my homer opinion.

Good start to the season for you guys btw.

Can't wait to see how the Hawkeyes do this season leading up to the game with Nebraska. Could be one hell of a game. I still see Nebraska coming out on top at this point.
Then I assume you haven't watched either Iowa or Nebraska play football this year? I'm not sure what you think is going to happen in the next 8 weeks but right now Nebraska is not in Iowa's league, and as long as CJB is healthy that will be the case on Black Friday.

Yeah, you guys will be fine. I have a lot of respect for Mike Riley, and the growing pains from adjusting to new schemes are predictable any time there's a coaching change.

For the life of me, though, I can not figure out why Nebraska--Nebraska!-- has been completely unable to get back to playing good defense for...well, for about 3 different coaching eras now. If a team with mediocre recruiting resources like Wisconsin can find a way to recruit and scheme solid defense year after year, there's just no reason why it can no longer be done in Lincoln. Even if you guys were making teams one dimensional, that would be one thing, but that's not happening, either. That has to be on the coaching.

I like watching fundamental, traditional football, whether it's Iowa playing or anyone else. Just wish the Huskers would get back to having an identity on D--kind of the same way I'd like to see Michigan re-establish some semblance of a power run game in my lifetime, but maybe I'm just getting old (although my Members Only jacket indicates that I've still got it).

All I can say is: "Jane you ignorant slut!"

I'm not too concerned with losses to BYU and Miami at this point. Yes, they suck but most of us are 0-0 in conference and a conference title game is what both these teams are playing for at this point.

I'm not buying into the awesomeness of Iowa at 3-0 yet, either. If we go to Wisconsin and pull off a victory then many of the questions will be answered, we'll have our best win since 2012 and be nicely ranked.

The week after, UNL takes on Wisconsin in Memorial Stadium. So many answers so near to this day.

This, it was very clear that Miami was the better team. They seriously shot themselves in the foot towards the end and it was just ugly. They had two TD's called back in the second half and if very easily could have been a blowout if they wouldn't had lost their discipline.

Be ranked? You're 1-2....it's going to take more than just beating Wiscy to get you ranked.

South Alabama was a good win too because they have a bunch of UAB and Alabama transfers.....just ask them.

It's nice to have some sanity on this board once in awhile. Nice post.
