I am to lazy to research, but I'd think ND basketball has been pretty much irrelevant as long an Iowa basketball has been....both football schools at their core.

I thought the same. He had a senior-laden team in 2023 that brought him Penn State's best team in 25 years. He had Kanye Clary and Evan Mahaffey as true freshmen to build around.

Tough to turn down Notre Dame when they essentially doubled his salary and he already had ties in Indiana and South Bend.

I think he is a pretty good coach and have had some bad injury luck in his time there. He might also be dealing with considerable more pressure at ND than PSU BB.
