MSU now up a dozen. I thought someone said they weren't competitive with Duke?
Rocket Watts has gotten better as the game’s gone along.

If there was ever a time to want to play the big dogs on their home court, this is the year.

MSU is very good and will compete for the B1G title, as usual.

Agree with Bilas. Still think they are the 4th best team in the league. If we finish the season let’s hope so.
Before tip-off when we play Sparty, I would like to see Fran go up to the refs and tell them when Sparty is hands on pushing Iowa every possession the refs need to call fouls early and stop their crap. Or Fran will be on the court screaming just as much as Izzo.
I think he needs that talk just before the start of the 2nd half. That is when Sparty typically turn up the heat and officials swallow their whistles.

We all know MSU's pattern. At the beginning of the season, they play poorly, have some close calls and even lose a couple of games, but when the B1G chips are down, they're always there at the end.
Never judge MSU by it's early season play....Izzo like's to lay low and try and have his teams peak towards end of season, tourney time from what I've noticed. Like him or not he's a good coach in that respect.

MSU might actually be better offensively this year than last, but they lost some great players, who did the dirty work needed to win. I only watched maybe a third of the Duke game, but they have a lot of weapons. Whether their guys can play defense and rebound like the past great MSU teams remains to be seen. Many have probably forgotten how good Joshua Langford (shooting guard) is, because he has been hurt the last couple of years. If he is healthy, is one of the best shooters in all of college basketball. Rocket is a really good PG. All that said, I hate Sparty!
Its not so much that they lay low, its that they always play one of the toughest non con schedules every year, because he usually has the horses. This seasons his team for later. This is a big reason, I love Iowa's upcoming schedule this year. They have the horses, so not only will it be fun to watch, but it should help prepare them for the finish line......
I'm sure they are going to get better as the season progresses but I thought they were really sloppy. Duke was just sloppier.
