Cooper vs Lewis (Rut)
Someone refresh my memory on how this match turned out at the dual, please?

In the dual, Cooper won 6-4.

Obviously, I didn't like his first period effort but he was down a point in the 3rd with about a minute to go and didn't fire off any offense until under :30 left.

Cooper has no clue what to do. Down 2 takedowns and he never took a shot in the 2nd period until 3 seconds left. He may not even qualify for nationals. He is no Mike Kelly lol

Rhoads VS Reese (Ohio U.)

40 sec in and not much action
hand fights and collar ties
Rh with low shot from space and Re in no danger

more hand fighting and Rh with elbow off attempt
match stopped...blood time for Rh.

restart and more hand fighting
forehead to forehead
Rh with snap Re back up and now same position
45 sec left
Re with elbow pass attempt and Rh with reshot
got to leg but hard counter by Re and Rh has to come back to his feet and neutral
end of 1
0-0

The guys that are attacking early are controlling their matches (Gilman, Clark, Sorenson, Kemerer, Brooks, Burak).

Those that wait and feel out the first period are putting themselves in tight 50/50 matches (Cooper, Rhoads, Meyer).

I'd rather be in that first group and control the match, but what do I know.

No they aren't. Iowa has only had Cooper and Rhoads wrestle so far this round. Wait until semis are done, they won't be there anymore.
Was 96 -91.5 when I posted, so sure they are. I'm confident we will pull away, but until then...

Yep. Kept wondering what he was waiting for, guess he didn't want to ride too long if he got a takedown................................. 2nd period, same thing, lot of going forward and no actual shots until it was too late. As previously stated, he's perplexing. Maybe he's just a better dual wrestler, which doesn't help us much at the NCAA Tournament.;)

Heard on Takedown Wrestling that he had some back issues after his last match; the reason why he got a little chippy after the match?

If some still think our problems at 157 have been solved, I have great news - we are now awesome at 165 as Rhodes looks 10X better than Cooper.

Holy overreactions. He looked fine as his last match ended. Likely just precautionary.
