Midlands PBP: Session 3

Moreno down to start 3rd

Must have missed some action with Sorensen's match, but Kem up now 19-7 and in on another shot
that is how it ends
EDIT: Missed Kem's RT point so final score was actually 20-7

BS fighting off lots of shots from Sueflohn
Sueflohn in on legs a couple times but no points

You can hardly hold that against Brooks.
I agree Brooks got horn ripped. DT needs to get his practice in against world class wrestlers not college guys he can easily beat. I think it is pretty low rent on DT's part.

Maybe he wants to get accustomed to guys at that weight. Why knock a guy for wanting to wrestle? I mean if it was Tony Ramos all of us would love it.

Are you 12? Geezuz man. This practice has been going on for years, and sadly there aren't near as many David Taylor's entered as there used to be.

In order to give you a break, and so I don't have to read your Chess mentality, I'm just putting you on Ignore. Have a nice life anyway.

I agree. Having this level of competition makes the event more fun to watch. I kind of wish we'd see more of it. Otherwise, Midlands is just a mini-NCAA seeding meeting.

T-shirt wins in OT.

Maybe somebody should just go out there and beat him. Gable won the Midlands as a true freshman and I believe he beat a world medalist in doing so. DT can be beat.

I thought that the NCAA outlawed post-grad competing in these types of tournaments?

If that is not the case, why are there so many fewer post-grads in Midlands now, than say 10 years ago?

I kinda wish Brands had targeted Kemerer to hit the weights and be ready to possibly go 157. We never seem to plan ahead real well. Even know his build looks a lot more like 157 than Sorensen to me.

Maybe they are planning for that. He has only been at Iowa a few months and that might not be enough time for him to grow into 157.

If they were planning that, he likely would have been wrestling 57 this weekend for seeding purposes, and to see where he is at.

What the heck is Meyer doing? He gave up 2 mins of riding time, get's reveresed and gives up back points? Should have just cut him and gone for the takedown.

Seeding purposes? I should have been more clear. I meant they could have been targeting him to 157 next year. This year not enough time for him to put on the needed muscle.

Meyer on top after Walters chose down
Meyer riding tough, walters to his feet
meyer with mat return and walters with nice switch and gets RV
now getting NF
4 NF for Walters and meyer getting ridden hard again
stalling on meyer on bottom
meyer has been stretched on his belly for both second and third periods
meyer loses 0-7
