Ok I get that, but today I would rather here about how are wrestlers are doing in this tournament than bicker over what was or wasn't said about certain wrestlers before anyone stepped out on the mat this season. To go with this thanks to everyone that posts results from today as this is the only way for me to find out how the guys are doing.

Young looks like the cut is really hard on him.

It is a tough cut for him. Last year people were amazed at how much he could drop in a single workout. The cut got easier for him as the year went on, I expect the same thing to happen this year. Finger crossed anyways.

I will tell you that I was one of “those” posters and it was absolutely said by a coach at the riverside golf outing. Obviously the way Gavin has looked has made that hard to believe . In that coaches continued opinion , Gavin is a huge talent with a unique skill set. Unfortunately we as fans haven’t seen that Gavin yet.

Cashman was a cadet world team member. So yeah, maybe Ybarra is better than Cashman when Lee is gone. Plus Ybarra is now wrestling 132, so who knows if he'll even be able to make 125.

I remember Brands saying a few years ago to watch out for Topher Carton--he was going to surprise some people. He also said one time that the only true freshman ready to contend was Brody Grothus.

I think it's a combination of Tom trying to give credit and build up the confidence of guys who are trying hard, Tom's own need to justify recruiting the wrestler in question, and a little bit of hype for the sake of working the fans into a frenzy. And maybe a bit of false confidence by Brands, who overestimates his own ability to turn water into wine.
